Now, Starz only has 13M US subs and it was a really slow week for films so it is hardly comparable to other films on other services with much more subscribers.

This is one that is heavily on my radar for 2028. I really hope Sony finds a good date for this film, this has a lot of potential

Week-to-Week Drops

Obsession: A great Friday, as the goal for the movie is set to make 140k admits over the next two days, so the total on Sunday will be around 480k admits. That would make a run to 1 million admits more likely than not, especially since the genre is pretty thin right now.

Odyssey: The movie should make around 374k admits over the next two days to reach 10.8 million admits on Sunday. It should be just south of $90 million, at roughly $89 million.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day: The movie has a very realistic chance to cross 8.9 million admits tomorrow. It should be sitting around 8.93 million admits, or maybe a bit higher if the Thursday and Friday holds were accurate.

Intern: The movie had a bounce-back day, making 60k admits for its opening day more likely than not at this point, as long as it does not stagnate again.

Coyote vs. Acme returns to the top of the charts with a gross of €184,735 (-24% from seven days ago, thanks to good word of mouth) and an average of €453 in 408 theaters (up from 384 seven days ago). The family film starring Wile E. Coyote has grossed €2,347,224 since September 2.

Odissea returns to second place with €141,974 (-26%) and an average of €476 in 298 theaters (up from 386 seven days ago). Christopher Nolan's film, a phenomenon across all audiences, has grossed €56,604,089 since July 16 with 6,719,852 admissions.

After its debut at the top, Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger drops to third place . The documentary film about the reunion of the English pop band closed the day with €129,236 and an average of €486 in 266 theaters. The two-day total is €291,712.

In 2027, Paramount & Warner Bros. will both be releasing their tentpole franchise films based on properties with Japan-based roots, with Sonic the Hedgehog 4 releasing March 19 & Godzilla x Kong: Supernova releasing March 26.

Right now, we don’t have a trailer for either film, but rumor is that Sonic 4 will have its trailer released next month to potentially show in front of the new Street Fighter movie which will also be from Paramount, while I’d put good money on them putting the trailer for Supernova before Godzilla: Minus Zero in November.

Both the Sonic movies and the MonsterVerse have been commercially successful, with Sonic in particular having increased in total WW numbers with each film that has come out.

Personally, while I think both films will undoubtedly be successful, I think Sonic 4 will make more domestically and probably have better critical reception, but Supernova will make more worldwide, as the MonsterVerse films have always been more OS-heavy compared to the more DOM-heavy Sonic movies. I see Sonic 4 ending with a $500M+ WW gross, while Supernova will be around $550-$600M.

I really liked this one, but it's flopping hard. It made $2.7M so far off a budget of $15M.

The way some movies are received restores my faith in the movie-going audience, like Obsession, but Onslaught's box office makes me think we're just not there yet.

I'm sure it'll eventually find its audience as a cult hit, just not in the first run.
