Morality Ranking Morality from The Perspective of a Rational Egoist.
The morality of Rational Egoism. Since everyone likes posting about incest on this sub, let us use it as a case study. Two consenting adult siblings, male and female, who don't want kids.
Rational Egoism says that morality exists because humans need a rational code of values to survive. Actions that promote long-term well-being are good, but actions that destroy, sabotage, or sacrifice an individual's life are evil.
In Rational Egoism, an action is not moral simply because it produces pleasure or fulfills an immediate desire.
So, it is moral to pursue your own self-interest as long as it is rational. "Does this action serve my long-term life and happiness?"
If dating one's sibling brings them happiness, outweighs the risks of societal isolation, and is legal, then it's rational. Thus, it is moral to do so.
Now we can lay this argument to rest :)

Morality of parents punishing kids for doing stupid and dangerous things.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The video is a bit of a meme but these days I think a lot of parents revert to a form of “gentle” parenting which doesn’t seem to be very effective. A lot of the time it leads to permissive behavior and kids will take a mile with an inch given. I see so many kids who have been gently parented and given a loose leashe turn into complete monsters. How moral is it to actually lightly physically punish a kid with something like a light spanking for a severe repeated missteps when words and revoking permissions fail?

Morality Ranking Morality of catching an insect and feeding it to another insect?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Yes, animals and insects eat each other in the wild. That's nature. But what about a human being the direct cause that an insect eats another insect? You can also make the argument that the horse fly was biting the horse and needed to be disposed of anyways. But why take the extra steps in other to feed it to another insect?
Personally, I think it's fine and funny lol
EDIT: Today I learned that spiders are not actually "insects" and are actually arthropods. I have made a grave mistake.

Morality Ranking What is the morality of punishing someone infinitely for mistakes made in a finite life?
How does the biblical concept of Hell make sense?
How does it make sense for you to suffer infinite punishment for mistakes committed during a finite lifetime? There’s no way that can be considered fair.
Literally, it doesn’t make sense, and it’s also extremely cruel.
Seriously, how is that justice? You’re going to spend an infinite amount of time suffering for mistakes you made during a finite lifetime. How does that work?

Morality Ranking Morality of working in Data Centers
I mean obviously its not good but. I just recently left the career I had been in for 7 years. Struggled very hard to find something else for about another year but lucked into a tech job as a hardware technician. The job is interesting and pays very well, but I was disappointed to realize that I’d be installing the shit that goes in these data centers.
A job is a job I suppose and I’m hoping to switch to a different position in the company eventually where I don’t have to work in these. But it definitely makes me feel bad that my job is working in something that is straight up bad for the world? Doesn’t help that its such a massive hot button issue right now
