I was 6 years old and on the west coast of Canada. Mom woke me up for school and I slowly made my way downstairs just in time to see the second plane hit the tower on the TV. My mom was crying. I had no idea what was going on, or why it made her cry, but school ended up being canceled, even up here.
My dad wasn't due to start work until 2pm GMT that day, so had the TV on. Initially thought "this is a bit much for a film being broadcast on daytime TV, then changed the channel and suddenly realised this wasn't a film. it was being broadcast on this channel too.
