People nowadays complain about broken releases, but I remember my copy of KOTOR crashing about every 2 hours in the loadscreen along with some broken scripting not triggering some quest states. And there was no way for patching that automatically back in the day.
Yeah I was typically getting one game for Christmas in the 90s and one for my birthday. Definitely had one or two that were a struggle to even get playing. The access and choice is crazy these days.

Very true, main difference is now I get to find out it's shit before I've spent £50 on it to find out.
Been playing 30+ years and putting nostalgia aside the quality and wide variety of games has never been better to me.
