It is kind of creepy how much these people are talking about something that should be anonymous. Jurors shouldn’t receive backlash or fallout for their judgements. They shouldn’t be singled out in the media afterwards.

Above all else, jurors should feel safe to make a decision. If jurors feel that they will be subject to a public shaming as a result of their decision, that makes a fair trial impossible.

I am genuinely surprised that it is legal for jurors to publicly complain about other individual jurors like this.

Honestly, all the media attention is ridiculous. It's become this whole big thing, but familicide happens quite often. This one is being used as a mental health debate (I agree that she had mental health problems) and as some gender gotcha scenario...

That's their decision, though. They didn't choose to be on this jury. They were all doing their civic duty. They should all be able to decide for themselves whether they want the public to know who they are. No one else should be able to decide that for them, and thats what the media is trying to do

If you turn jury duty into a free ticket to minor celebrity, guess who will try to get on juries?

No, they should not be allowed to profit off it, and this shit needs to be nipped in the bud.

What the hell are you talking about? That is not at all the point that I was making.

And if you knew a single thing about jury duty, you would know that 99.99999% percent of cases don't even carry the possibility of a jury member profiting off of it, and you wouldn't even know if you were being considered for a case that COULD involve you profiting until you've already been selected. Do you think people are currently trying to game the system to weasel their way into high profile cases? Because I can assure you the reality is the exact opposite. Most courts can barely gather enough jurors to try the cases they already have
