Imagine going back for the dude and he just vanished

180

u/McRedditz 3h ago

Oh well.

32

u/Southanstyle 3h ago

Well, I see what you did there

25

u/daisypunk99 3h ago

You both did very well.

21

u/GeeToo40 3h ago edited 52m ago

This is deep, I need to think about this.

9

u/MainRoutine2068 3h ago

well well well

8

u/iKnowRobbie 3h ago

I've watched this video,
And I've read these comments.
This well has no ending.

6

u/No_Limits100123 2h ago

I fair thee well..

1

u/sugart007 2h ago

We’ll see if this ever stops.

8

u/Suspicious_Push_9432 3h ago

Easy, you put that camera back down and the well stops at the casing because the sidewalls collapsed with no safety cribbing.

1

u/darkest_irish_lass 34m ago

I was just thinking this looked like the beginning of an OSHA video

1

u/ClarkGriswold1775 1h ago

Well, what’s next?

0

u/bettsdude 1h ago

Next person please

6

u/FakeChiBlast 2h ago

Imagine it's a different worker you've never seen!

4

u/Churchbushonk 2h ago

That dude should not be in that hole without shoring.

2

u/landrias1 1h ago

I bet his wife is named Jessica.

1

u/narcant77 43m ago

Underrated comment. Likely due to age difference

2

u/__mz 1h ago

Imagine you’re the dude in the well and the guy above you vanishes..

1

u/Not_A_zombie1 44m ago

The hole gods reclaimed their sacrifice, just as planned, the digging msy continue now

u/32BitBrit 4h ago

Like a little LEGO minifigure discovered during a colonoscopy

19

u/misterpickles69 3h ago

What a sperm sees if it looked behind him.

1

u/t53ix35 31m ago

I swallowed a minifig head before my last colonoscopy. Alas, my timing was off, and it was not seen.
Good gag if it worked though.

1

u/QuarkVsOdo 2h ago

Lemmywings!

46

u/maxx2payne 4h ago

No thanks, I hate it.

97

u/NoQuestion7237 4h ago

So question, with what appears to be NO VENTILATION, how does that man not suffocate with zero PPE or anything close to that.

66

u/Erathen 4h ago

Realistically he would, but I'm going to assume/hope one of those lines is fresh air being injected

109

u/WasteBinStuff 3h ago

That's what the pipe on the side is for.

Regarding PPE, this is filmed in a part of the world where, unfortunately, human life has less value we we in the western world imagine ours to have.

63

u/Suspicious_Push_9432 3h ago

"imagine ours to have" this dude is a realist level 10!

2

u/WasteBinStuff 2h ago

As I said...

"_imagine ours to have."

But yeah, I agree.

2

u/Cowboy_on_fire 2h ago

Have you made almost this exact comment before on a similar post? Having mad Déjà vu right now.

3

u/BigTroutOnly 1h ago

He got a helmet, dawg

2

u/GiantInTheTarpit 37m ago

I don't think that basic helmet would do any good for anything bigger than a quarter. Someone drops a wrench from the surface level and neither the helmet or his skull would be stopping it.

-1

u/Hamezz5u 1h ago

Thought the same, vid might be fake or something

30

u/Optimal_Collection77 4h ago

Didn't even reach the surface

30

u/Yorok0 3h ago

Getting the last Pringles

22

u/radiationshield 4h ago

Nightmare fuel

15

u/vojine9944 4h ago

Looks so hard and dangerous work hats off

20

u/ndt29 4h ago

Tbf, hats on seems safer here.

7

u/blue_my_eye 3h ago

I'm sure it would definitely save you...

2

u/SeriouslySlyGuy 1h ago

I don’t know, does a plastic helmet help when something hits terminal velocity before impacting your skull?

1

u/goldenthoughtsteal 34m ago

It'll definitely help with the little bits of rock/earth being potentially knocked off by the guy being winched up, maybe stop a pebble accidentally kicked in from the top instantly killing you, but I don't think it would save you from a spanner or hammer, that's a long way down!

I would wear one in his position, but I wouldn't be happy at the lack of casement in the bottom section of the well, that looks sketchy with all the water.

12

u/Kermit_the_hog 4h ago

What are they doing, digging a well on top of a mountain 🤷‍♂️??

10

u/worldofjaved 4h ago

Salute to all the labours of the world.

10

u/Erathen 4h ago

OSHA has entered the chat

12

u/McRedditz 3h ago

More like OHSHIT has entered the chat.

3

u/davasaur 1h ago

We don't need OSHA where we're going, Marty!

2

u/Different_Leopard_65 1h ago

OSHA has left the chat

15

u/Shorelooser 4h ago

Poor dude

6

u/poopinjake69 4h ago

Just gonna leave my man down there like that

5

u/Common-Accountant-57 4h ago

I think they flip a coin on who gets to leave.

1

u/Bettlejuic3 42m ago

*on who gets to LIVE

4

u/1badh0mbre 3h ago

It’s probably a shift change.

3

u/McRedditz 3h ago

He chose deep instead of long.

5

u/anyewest9 4h ago

Just don't let this guy get near your milkshake

6

u/ColdbloodedFireSnake 3h ago

Colleague on top: I know I forgot something but I can’t remember what… ah well let’s call it a day and have a nice weekend. Maybe I will remember Monday when I go back down

1

u/No-No-Aniyo 1h ago

I feel like this has to have happened somewhere at least once.

1

u/NotPrepared2 15m ago

Oubliette.

10

u/Tullzterrr 4h ago

He hasn’t hit rock bottom yet

5

u/forsurebros 2h ago

he did but he kept digging.

12

u/DorkyDorkington 3h ago

Looks more like maintenance or cleaning than construction. Why cut the video before the top?

5

u/nudelsalat3000 3h ago

Is there a tunnel to the side where he is standing? What could it be good for?

It seems a bit strange the last part is not encapsulated by concrete. The rest is! So strange they just stopped on the last part to prevent collapse.

1

u/citsonga_cixelsyd 1h ago

You have to remove the dirt/clay/rock before you add the shoring. When drilling a tunnel, they don't shove the shoring in first and then remove the material.

1

u/insideusalt 1h ago

Not always true.

5

u/frogmicky 3h ago

Why did the video end did he ever get out what about the other guy?

5

u/ReliantToker 3h ago

FUCK THAT

4

u/generalmandrake 2h ago

What’s this well for? You’d think if they haven’t hit water by now they would’ve given up by some point.

1

u/Frikoulas 50m ago

It is not a well for sure. The opposite, it's built so water can't get in from the walls like any other well. Also the depth makes no sense for a well.

3

u/Icelandicstorm 3h ago

Apple TV is really going all out on the final season of Silo.

3

u/itsSuperBird 2h ago

Legend has it that the dude is still being pulled out

3

u/wave1sys 2h ago

It stop being interesting about 20 seconds in started being terrified for the last 40 seconds

1

u/WileyWilly1985 1h ago

I was expected it to end around 5 seconds of him ascending, then 5 become 10, 10 become 15 and after 15 seconds of him ascending my brain started screaming F*CK THAT!!!!

At 30s, the video became pure unbridled nightmare fuel

2

u/EuropeanLord 4h ago

How deep is that? Roughly?

14

u/partywithlemons 4h ago

Well deep.

3

u/rFAXbc 3h ago

Very well done

1

u/Historical_Village11 4h ago

Which is approximately a just little less than fucking deep

2

u/Hesty402 3h ago

I’m no scientist, but that looked fucking deep as shit to me

4

u/DelusionalPianist 3h ago

I don’t know, but you could throw down a huge boulder and count the seconds until you hear a scream….

3

u/jefbenet 3h ago

i calculated based on the height of the average man, the boots he was wearing as scale, and the rate of rise he was traveling up the well bore...based on my math he's somewhere between 'nope' and 'fuck that' feet deep.

2

u/eastamerica 4h ago

Solid nope

2

u/seoras13 4h ago

Colder than a well diggers ass.

2

u/Horror_Trust1826 4h ago

Nope I’m getting claustrophobic vibes out there

2

u/This-Construction926 3h ago

yeh, I'm feeling faint watching it

2

u/G-Ma6 3h ago

No effing way, my thighs started quivering just watching that video.

2

u/Vesalii 3h ago

People could forget you're down there and you could do nothing about it. I assume you could yell and they could hear you but still...

Frightening

2

u/dreaminganimal 2h ago

I'm guessing dragging his boots is to stabilize the lift somehow, but there's going to be holes in them right fast!

2

u/SickPuppy01 2h ago

What is the opposite of a fear of heights? What ever it is I think I have it now

1

u/t53ix35 27m ago

In this situation you could fall from a great height from a great depth.

2

u/IcedDownMedallion 2h ago

I guess we really do have underground facilities.

2

u/Lombardyn 2h ago

That's the kind of hole where some people put a glass plate on the top, situate their toilet next to it and go "haha I got an ancient well in my house "

2

u/TheRoscoeVine 2h ago

I want to know what they’re saying. Can anyone translate?

2

u/GarysCrispLettuce 1h ago

Well well well....

...well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well

3

u/CharacterRiver7483 1h ago

I got anxiety 3 times during that

3

u/yes-disappointment 1h ago

ok thought it was only 7-8 feet then saw how deep it was and nope.

2

u/rootIsGood 52m ago

Even the light gone dark!

2

u/throwaway661375735 46m ago

That's because he was traveling away from the light at the speed of light, so the photons could not catch up yet.

1

u/rootIsGood 39m ago

Interesting, people are beating light speed using rope.

2

u/andreivalake 35m ago

Well, welll, well!

3

u/Historical-Theory-49 3h ago

I don't see anyone wearing their protective flipflops

1

1

u/MikeTangoRom3o 3h ago

Nightmare fuel

1

u/snuggl3ninja 3h ago

Is he dragging his boots so he can brake himself quicker if the cable snaps?

1

u/OkayBooper 3h ago

How is depressurization not in play here?

3

u/Frenchie81 2h ago

Same reason skydivers dont have to worry about depressurization. The pressure change in air relative to altitude is about 1000x less than the pressure change in water relative to depth per meter. 1.2kPa per 100 meters for air vs 101kPa per 10 meter for water.

1

u/PeterPanski85 1h ago

Thanks, that was roughly my answer the first time it was posted here (which was the longer video too)

1

u/Bumblebeard63 3h ago

Get concrete pipe sections and dig them in one at a time. No risk of wall collapse.

1

u/KeffnP 3h ago

Looks like he’s handling it quite well

1

u/jpgargoyle_ 3h ago

I like to see the video and imagine that the hole is horizontal

1

u/Wooden-Ad-9925 3h ago

Well? Or Hole?

1

u/FartBrulee 3h ago

Ok I'll admit it's a little deep

1

u/SpendAccomplished962 3h ago

Don’t drop a wrench

1

u/gravljaw 3h ago

Thats a nope on a rope

1

u/belliest_endis 3h ago

Can anyone translate whats been said at the start?

1

u/Sea_Slide_1692 3h ago

"Are you sure you don't need help?" "Yeah, no worries, I can easily climb by myself".

1

u/RobotCPA 3h ago

I don't need water that bad.

1

u/smokeypapabear40206 3h ago

Obviously the dude at the bottom is the FNG.

u/TheGDC33 2h ago

Don't shine that thing in my eyes man

1

u/xp14629 2h ago

Hope those rubber boots aren't steel toe and one pops off as they are dragging along the wall. Jimmy at the bottom may not be very happy.

1

u/prototype_X10 2h ago

When Batman decides NOT to save you

1

u/Laughing_Fractals 1h ago

Who here can calculate the wells depth?

1

u/ParticularOk533 1h ago

Bro, stop dragging your boots on the wall. A bunch of micro-debris is going to be falling on top of that poor guy’s head for hours.

1

u/Academic_Ad5143 1h ago

Rick Lagina, that you?

1

u/Lionel-Hutz_ 1h ago

Imagine having to go #2

2

u/Heterodynist 1h ago

1

u/_ShartyWaffles 1h ago

1

u/2ManyCatsNever2Many 31m ago

i don't know what would scare me more - being at the bottom of that well or taking the ride to get out.

u/Outrageous_Engine_45 8m ago

WTF??!! With no reinforcement?

1

u/KyleBr7 3h ago

Ai or nah?

1

u/CydaeaVerbose 3h ago

Oh man.... No legumes or cruciferous vegetables for dinner for these gents. You imagine dying by fart? Ha. I have heard of a guy gassing himself to death, my grade 7 teacher told us a few Darwin Award winning stories and one was of a guy who ate a lot of gas-inducing foods, went to bed that night in his small poorly ventilated bedroom and no open window.

Farting in this instance could be taken up with the workman safety board, lmao.

1

u/chiripaha92 1h ago
