TRIGGER WARNING 25 years ago Trump called the local news so he could declare that his building was now the tallest building in Manhattan just hours after the Twin Towers fell. He made 3,000 people dying about himself!

Wow. It used to take him hours to make things about himself

Hubris isn't even the right word. That a man could witness this in his hometown, say what he said for the public record, and then 25 years later say HE WAS ACTUALLY AT GROUND ZERO...

I don't even know how to navigate the ways that makes me feel.

The man lies to the world at every instant of every day. He does not revere a single thing in this life other than gold and sadism.

u/hanburgundy 1d ago

Anyone that’s spent time around a narcissist can spot the pattern. It’s compulsive and constant. There is no situation in which someone like this won’t, like a reflex, try to make it about themselves.

69

u/GreasyPeter 23h ago

The world would be a much different place if we taught Personality Disorders and how to spot them in high-school. Imagine the amount of horrible relationships that could have been avoided if people knew from a younger age what dysfunction looks like.

3

u/innerbootes 8h ago

In my case it would’ve alerted me to 2 or 3 of my family members. :/

14

Maybe, but I'm pretty sure he was born that way.

11

u/joe611jg 1d ago

You put it so well. And people love him.

47

u/kuchtaalex 1d ago

He's fundamentally broken in more ways than I can count. Like he exists in a state of permanent arrested development where every possible advancement he's made has been completely diverted to his ego.

25

u/joe611jg 1d ago

Donald death day. Keep the faith, it's coming.

And he grew to making 600,000 people dying of COVID about himself. The guy really streamlined being an asshole into a high science.

9

u/ShrimpCrackers 23h ago

40 Wall Street was never the tallest in the downtown skyline, not even "technically."

Of course it was shorter than the midterm skyline because that had the Empire State and other buildings.

3

u/Heng-Li 21h ago

I mean he still made it about himself right away. It just took him a few hours to broadcast it

Yes, and it wasn’t even true. Trump Tower still wasn’t the tallest building in NY, and still isn’t.

To be fair, he had just been dragged out of the rubble by firefighters, so his sense of scale was warped or something

Lies!!!

He was the one dragging firefighters out of the rubble, It was confirmed he single handedly saved 9 firefighters, 18 civilians and 6 dogs.

38

u/BillyTheGoatBrown 23h ago

I heard he held up one of the towers support beams delaying the collapse and allowing more life's to be saved. Amazing

12

u/Nirozu 20h ago

And then went back in and saved a whole class of young girls and sent them on a lovely holiday to a remote island.

5

u/lxgrf 21h ago

The only thing that makes it unbelievable that he'd claim this is the mention of dogs. He'd never think to pretend to care about dogs.

Why do you think NYers loathe him and his family?

144

u/AnAncientBog 1d ago

Because of the previous 30 years of being a shit bag slum lord.

Sesame Street made an evil Muppet based on him like 15 years before this.

96

u/pheeko 1d ago

Image how much of a POS you need to be for Sesame Street to be taking shots.

33

u/AnAncientBog 23h ago

Seriously. And it's like the only time an evil character is defeated without being redeemed at all. They beat him him making him go away. He never learned a lesson or apologized, he's one of the only genuinely evil characters to appear on the show.

These are amazing. I just watched them both, totally worth the time. I’m dying!

23

u/AaronBasedGodgers 1d ago

And that's only those who vote. If you include the population of the USA and factor in people who can't vote, anywhere from 22-25% of the population support this guy

21

the people who don’t vote are as responsible as those who voted for him

I did the math using census data and in the election roughly 23% of the country voted for the flaming shitgibbon. He has lost a LOT of support since then. It doesn't always seem that way online, but absolutely no doubt something I am seeing happening in real time. The cult signs have come down, the people are turning on him. I would estimate the support to be closer to 18% now, if not less, regardless of what polls say about approval rating.

6

Couldn't be more narcissistic if he tried. Imagine seeing a tragic terrorist attack where innocent people died and the skyline is in ashes and your first thought is to make this declaration💀

55

u/Immaletyoufinish1 1d ago

It’s incredible he was able to make this call while being “carried away by firefighters from Ground Zero.”

He is such a massive piece of shit.

14

u/Luxury_Dressingown 1d ago

He is the biggest POS but this new lie is so incredibly, immediately debunkable I wonder it it's a symptom of his declining cognitive functions. There's no twisted fractional sliver of potential truth, no plausibility that it could have happened, and extensively documented evidence that it didn't happen.

15

u/kms2547 I cannot sanction your buffoonery 1d ago

I've been saying this for years. It's not just that he lies, it's that he tells incredibly stupid lies that don't even make sense to lie about. It's pathological.

8

u/Luxury_Dressingown 1d ago

Agreed, but this one in particular really sends such strong dementia signals - he saw the footage on TV and now thinks it happened to him, etc. Similar vibes when he was talking to that Roosevelt hologram as if it was really him recently.

4

u/GayCatDaddy 23h ago

Trump is that student who attempts to do a book report without having read the book. He just rambles about inane shit, and if it sounds good to him in that moment, he goes with it.

37

u/TX0834 1d ago

But he just told us the biggest and strongest firefighters of all time…some say the greatest firefighters…helped him out of the rubble…some might also say the biggest rubble of all time…big strong firefighters rubble…the firefighters helped him so he could make this phone call… /s

16

u/Shelala85 1d ago

that's the thing too many people don't realize.  this man has been a grade a shit bag his entire life.  WITHOUT FAIL.

14

u/atx8282 1d ago

And unsurprisingly, his claim was a lie. So he managed to make the deaths of nearly 3,000 people about himself, and lie about it in the process.

He's always been the way he is. Everyone who voted for him is a monster too.

13

u/vandyke_browne 1d ago

Not the only building he brought down

10

u/morts73 1d ago

I hate that after 25 years of the worst attack on American soil you have Donald Trump as President. The whole world rallied around you in the days of 9/11 and we cried American tears. Now he has ostracised all those nations who came to your aid and made the affair about himself.

9

u/NoHorseShitWang 1d ago

He reminds us that nothing is actually sacred to the rich and powerful.

6

u/Mind-ya-business 1d ago

25 years later he did it again by creating this completely fabricated story that he was actually at Ground Zero and was saved by a firefighter.

6

2

u/No-Association-4458 I’d rather smoke crack than eat cheese from a can 23h ago

What’s always bothered me about Trump and 9/11 is how quickly he made himself part of the story… he’s talking about his building being the tallest in Manhattan right after the attacks, I mean come on!

And now, years later, we’re watching people turn the anniversary into praise for Trump and Vance (if anyone has noticed while watching the anniversary on tv). It’s just… unsettling.

2

u/peaceful_pancakes 23h ago

how did he call in when the fire department was carrying him all over nyc?

2

u/kermitthorson 23h ago

almost as mournful as he was for charlie. "have you seen the ballroom"

2

u/cuteintern 23h ago

As a side note, initial estimates for the number of dead was FIVE FIGURES. They were thinking something between 10-15,000 people were dead, and this asshole was on TV bragging about how tall his building was, now that WTC1 and WTC2 had fallen.

2

u/freedfg 23h ago

And in the following years he got deeply involved in attempting to hijack the memorial. Demanded he become the owner of the restored towers. And threw a monumental hissy fit over the building of One World Trade because he wasn't involved in any way.

2

u/Sleepysleepychick 23h ago

How is this the first I've ever heard of this? How fucking self-obsessed and twisted do you have to be to witness something like 9/11 and immediately think "I can make this about me". Every time I think I can't hate this man more ... it beggars belief.

That is where his mingled insecurity and narcissism come from, constantly proving to dad that he isn't the loser his parents thought he was.
