At first I was "Michael WHAT?".

Then after some research apparently he is not related to Roman Polanski.

Crisis Averted

Edit: After further digging, he is a piece of shit. And she is too for being with him.

Is there proof of this

199

u/takemyaptplz 11h ago

I’ve never seen any proof aside from people saying she said she likes Israel once. Like years and years ago when she had a concert there lol

u/2mock2turtle 10h ago

When I went looking into this a while ago, I found out two important things:

1) That quote came from an Israeli gossip rag and there's no video of her saying it. So there's a not insignificant chance it's completely made up to begin with. I have smoke for him for other reasons but paging John Malkovich.

2) The last time she's mentioned Israel at all was in 2020, and it wasn't a statement of support. It wasn't a criticism either, but what I'm getting at is that 2020 was a lifetime ago even before you consider how radically the paradigm has changed on Israel since 10/7.

I think it's fair to be critical of Gaga for not speaking out for Palestine; I've been a little monster going back to The Fame, and I think her not doing so is hypocritical and disappointing. (Although I do have some guesses as to why this is that go beyond the usual "celebs are chickenshit.") That said, I also don't think labeling her a Zionist is correct.

Fr. I literally get attacked everytime I say this 😂 I have been a Gaga fan for well over a decade. It's hurts, I get it, but let's not be blind 🙃

33

u/BeneficialMedia7943 10h ago

Being a little monster was hard on me and fun for me , but when she put out chromatica after delaying it for covid, took a full month before complaining (me and my friends call it that) that she couldn’t promote it bc of BLM, walking it back and telling people to donate, THEN finally donating—I had to let her go. I was hanging on by a thread during the italian curls artpop/performing in Israel 2014

I have to say, I'd rather see cosmetics tested on discarded human skin (file that under phrases I'd never thought I'd say) than on living animals.

80

u/Culinary_Fruit_Salad call me gal gadot cuz idk how to act rn 13h ago

that makes sense as long as they have mechanisms in place to make sure it isn't stolen from people or otherwise unethically harvested. i don't think they do though...

63

u/throwawtphone LET'S FUCKING GO!!! SHAKIRA LAW IS HERE!!! 13h ago

I swear it was in the late 80s that i read about us having the ability to grow sheets of human skin from cells. I was like if we can do that wtf are we testing on animals, lets just do that...but yeah we can do alot of cool stuff but animals are cheaper...and wrong, but cheaper. I hate it.

47

u/Culinary_Fruit_Salad call me gal gadot cuz idk how to act rn 12h ago

i agree that it's fucky to experiment on animals when there are humane alternatives just because it's cheaper. speaking of fucky

and yeah, there's a difference between donation and stealing and in the Arizona case I linked, people were mislead about what their samples were going to be used for and in most of the body donation cases in my other comment, people were also mislead about what the donations would be used for.

is there a way to know if the anonymized skin was donated with informed consent, donated with dubious consent, or stolen? i would hope that there is a paper trail and rigorous compliance measures but I have no idea. do you know?

Animal testing is much more expensive than using skin cells in a lab. Which is why animal testing for cosmetics is almost never done anymore. This is a battle that has basically already been won. Even in China it's almost completely phased out.

4

u/throwawtphone LET'S FUCKING GO!!! SHAKIRA LAW IS HERE!!! 9h ago

Well thats good to hear.

7

u/yaboyanu 12h ago edited 11h ago

I'm sure they have the patients sign consent forms in the clinics and have an entire IRB protocol. I would bet they are trying to do things by the book since Polansky really seems to want to be seen as legitimate in the biotech research space. Plus, they are too well known to fly under the radar while not being big enough to get away with things.

6

u/PenaltyStreet1286 10h ago

Genuinely curious…what would you consider the unethical harvesting of human skin? Just scalping it off random dead people, like from a crooked funeral home? (I’ve seen too many documentaries that touch on this…)

If you signed something at the hospital as we all do for medical waste, the hospital selling it anyway would be liable and ethically wrong, not the buyer. (Well, you can’t be sure, but likely assumption)

11

u/BuddhistSagan 12h ago

20

u/Culinary_Fruit_Salad call me gal gadot cuz idk how to act rn 13h ago

depends on if you trust them to ethically source the skin. there's a bunch of comment discussion about body donor fuckery and one comment about lady gaga's pro Israel comments from 2014 and people talking about Gaza and organ stealing by the IDF and speculation about the Israeli skin bank.

ignoring that though, the us has a bunch of body donor misconduct regardless of what Israel does. let me go find my comment about it.

27

u/PenaltyStreet1286 12h ago

So…why is this problematic? It’s not like a Henrietta Lacks type situation where your dna was used without your consent for vast profits. We all sign away our medical waste in the hospital, but I think you can specifically make sure it’s not repurposed if you want. If you don’t, reselling it seems like a good idea. What am I missing???

Was she secret pregnant or did they use a surrogate?

787

u/onegildedbutterfly 14h ago

Considering the backlash celebrities get for using surrogates, I doubt they would reveal it if they did use one

670

u/awolfsvalentine i ain’t reading all that, free palestine 14h ago

She has fibromyalgia and other medical issues so she likely used a surrogate for that reason

400

u/EdenEvelyn 14h ago edited 14h ago

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 15 and the idea of going through pregnancy and the postpartum period (especially the postpartum period with a newborn!) has been the final nail in the coffin for my choice to be childfree.

Surrogacy is definitely a bit of a moral grey zone but if I had the option of offering a woman who already had multiple children and wanted to be a surrogate a truly life changing amount of money so she could create generational wealth for her children and I could have a biological child I would probably do it.

210

u/Pretend-Astronaut-64 13h ago

They don’t pay surrogates enough money to create generational wealth…

51

u/breelynn312 13h ago

I know lol, they get paid roughly the same as any other job they'd for about 12 months.

6

u/cranberrisauce 2h ago

From my understanding, a surrogate in the U.S. costs at least $100k, usually closer to $150k, but I imagine more if there is some sort of NDA involved. The surrogacies that cost less than that are usually outside the country (Mexico, Georgia). Definitely not intergenerational wealth though.

8

u/breelynn312 1h ago

Yes, surrrogacy costs 100k to 150k, sometimes as much as 200k - but less than half of that goes to the surrogate. That total cost includes the agency fee, lawyer fees, and insurance. First time surrogates earn less than experienced surrogates. First timers usually earn 40-60k compensation (65 on the higher side, but I have seen 35k on the lower side). Experienced surrogates generally earn 60-85k (only less than a handful of times have I seen higher). Twin pregnancies carry bonus comp, but is generally not recommended by clinics - though some will do them. And please don't forget, this comp is sometimes taxed in some way (either as income or bonus comp, depending on a lot of factors).

But yeah, like you said, not generational wealth. In 2026, even if they were paid 100k or 150k (which they are not), it is not really life changing imo. It's a nice cushion though to pay some bills or maybe get you halfway to a downpayment on a house.

Having fibro, It was the worst pain in my entire life (so far) for the first 3 months.  But then my immune system turned off basically and it was the best 6 months of my life.

I definitely wouldn’t do it again because the actual birth sent me into one of the worst flares ever. Couldn’t walk without a cane for about 3 months straight

123

u/LizzyMcGuire69 13h ago

I have RA and being pregnant was the best my body had felt in a long time. Pregnancy is so strange with how it interacts with chronic illness.

28

u/Monroe-dmc 13h ago

Same, I have AxSpa and terrible pains normally, but being pregnant made me feel normal for a bit. Rheumatologist said its because the body reacts different to a pregnancy. Normally your body is attacking itself with an autoimmune disease, but she said its very common for pregnant women with AI diseases to feel super healthy.

15

u/thundahcunt 12h ago

Yes! I have PMOS (formerly known as PCOS) and once out of first trimester pregnancy was literally the best I ever felt. All my hormones were balanced for the fist time in like a decade. I actually lost weight while pregnant!

I didn’t have symptoms for 3 years postpartum - if it wasn’t for PPD, that period would have also been included best I felt. unfortunately - symptoms came roaring back around my girl’s 3rd birthday.

u/EdenEvelyn 12h ago

I started nannying in my early twenties because of how much I wanted kids. I thought it would be perfect. I’d be able to stay home to raise my babies while also making some side income by watching another child or two. I loved every second of nannying but the exhaustion I felt after 6-8 hours, even with infants I adored who slept half my shift while I sat on the couch, was so overwhelming. Add in the pain on top and I was worried about the kind of mother I would be. I was on the fence and then I took a short term job with a little girl who was profoundly disabled and I realize that if I had a disabled child it would kill me. I would love them with every part of heart and be an amazing mother but the stress and the work would literally kill me.

If I had never nannied I’m sure I would have children or be planning on it and a part of me will always wish that was the path I’d chosen but I’ve made peace with my decisions and I’m happy where I am now. I still nanny part time almost a decade after I first started because of how much I love babies and toddlers but I’m content giving them back after a few hours and then going home to take an edible, soak in the bathtub and watch movies in bed. It’s not the life I pictured but it’s one I don’t regret at all.

4

u/Strange_Juice2778 8h ago

I have the same and my pcp said the only time I will feel good is actually while being pregnant and getting stem cells from my own embryo. I thought for some reason it’d drain me of whatever energy I had left, but was informed I had the complete opposite assumption and didn’t realize it’d make me the healthiest and the most pain free I’ve ever been (I also have an immune deficiency).

5

u/emilygoldfinch410 Get in loser, we're on the right side of history 3h ago

Only lasts during pregnancy. It's very common for women to then flare after they deliver, leaving them to manage difficult symptoms while trying to parent their newborn 💔

11

u/ruinedworldtour Thorgy Thor was right 8h ago

In my country you can’t pay a woman to be a surrogate, they have to volunteer. Obviously you pay for everything related to the baby and pregnancy but you can’t actually pay the person doing it. I’m sure there are ways around it but a lot of people go abroad, Ukraine was a big place for this.

3

u/NoSeaworthiness2786 9h ago

surrogacy is still…disputed. tbh surrogate mother problly has a market with already regulated price(by the market not by these women been thru pregnancy lmao)

3

u/GlassPomoerium controversies: girl 5h ago

I don’t have a physical issue but take psychiatric medication that’s not compatible with pregnancy and that I just cannot stop taking. I’ve known two perfectly young women who died in childbirth out of nowhere so surrogacy is a hard no for me, I can’t imagine putting another woman at that kind of risk.

i wonder if they got it backwards? he has a company that uses donated skin to test cosmetics https://www.reddit.com/r/Fauxmoi/s/fAsgoslTz6

and there were reports of the IDF illegally harvesting organs from IDF soldiers and Palestinians through the 90s and speculation that Israel's skin bank is mostly stolen skin from Palestinians.

here's the illegally harvesting organs source:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Aftonbladet_Israel_controversy

In December 2009, Israeli officials admitted that they had harvested the organs of Palestinians without their families' permission.[3] These Palestinians had been killed by the Israeli military, but Israeli officials emphasized they did not kill Palestinians in order to harvest their organs.[4]

i couldn't find anything to back up the skin bank claim last time I looked so no idea if that's true or not

so maybe the connection is the Israeli skin bank? that's a real thing that exists. the only controversy, to my knowledge, is speculation around the source of the skin

Lady Gaga suffers from fibromyalgia and chronic migraines so yes it’s likely she used a surrogate.

In her Netflix documentary she talked about the complex pain she experiences everyday and how afraid she was that she would never be able to carry a child to term due to it.

Congrats to them!! Wasn’t it semi-confirmed that they already privately married as she’s been heard introducing him as her husband?

Reminder: You don't have to be pregnant to mother a child

u/metanefridija 10h ago

exactly, I don't get all these "when was she pregnant" comments. two minutes of research and you see she wasn't. it's fine, it's her life.

Do we think she used a surrogate? She has major chronic pain as documented in Five Foot Two, seems like a pregnancy could have been very risky for her.

u/Natural-Seaweed-5070 11h ago

Good for them. Hope they have a great life together.

What the fuck??? I’m a diehard little monster and this is legit blowing my mind and I’m not sure why. “Gaga had a baby” just sounds like a made up sentence. It’s not a negative feeling at all, just a confused feeling…like girl HUH???
