Hoyo forgot the banger design they made for Yunjin back in the day. Still one of my fave outfits they've given for a female character. Who woulda thunk it dudes can be attracted to women wearing more covering clothes. Tho admittedly I also find designs like illuga, varka, durin and flins to be some of their coolest dude designs so it's not genderlocked.
Which is hilarious because as a veteran in "Air-conditioner Wars" that are neverending at my office, that could not me more opposite from the truth. Guys are always boiling and women are always freezing lol.
at least Lumine is magic and we already know rosaria goes around all day in Dragonspine unbothered she literally tells you cold doesn't bother her, so Traveler that will likely get powers of cryo is chillin'
Gudako's mystic codes all have protection from environmental factors built in. If your clothes just automatically protect you from everything outside of the most extreme conditions, than you can make them look like whatever you want so long as the protection spells work.
Having gone to japan in winter a few years ago, its surprisingly common for girls to wear skirts in the middle of winter, I would say half of them do, if not more.
Granted, Tokyo is obviously not as cold as something like Snezhnaya.
When I was in high school I would wear my summer uniform for as long as I could because well, I wanted to show off my legs lol. Granted my country gets cold but never Russia cold... We don't even get snow.
As an adult, I still think skirts during the cold months are fine actually but not without some warm tights underneath. Lumine will die.

Winter leggings exist, thick winter leggings too for lower temps; lined with fur, thermal fabric tech things; very warm actually. This how you can rock a skirt or dress in winter
I lived in Nagano before, a colder region of Japan. During winter, I put up to 4 layers of clothes (heat tech, shirt, hoodie, winter jacket), and yet I still see school girls walking around with bare legs.

True, but the fact is...that outfit Zelda has on...with the game "Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity," where Zelda is playable, I always go with that outfit on her.

i dont mind seeing it cus clorinde is my fav, but whats up with only half of it? and even if not half then they could atleast use some other designs so it doesnt look like straight recycled, like theyre putting entire effort to make a whole new skin(somewhat, this design of lumine also reminds me of how clorinde too has stockings and skirt with the cape) ...
I mean, we’ve already got nod krai, and none of the women there look like they’re ready for the cold. I know nod krai isn’t as cold as Snezhnaya, but it ain’t even lukewarm
The one on the left is much better than that blue one, but we know that if we have to choose one, it'll be that blue one; for some reason, they love blue.
You can tell which one was chosen because the unused concepts have a letter marking next to them (A,B,C, etc) and the finalized one is on the actual traveler model T-posing.
You can see the same theme in the leaked concept art for certain characters final designs, where accessories and layering are separated next to the model like in the right image. Plus, they wouldn’t have that one posted as the central focus if it wasn’t.
Damn not even a full or knee length dress for protection against the elements if this is the final design. Did they really have to make it slightly below coochie length for the coldest region 💀
Can't wait to never see it because it keeps switching back to the old default one with the chopped model. Why even bother wasting time and resources on this when they can't be bothered to properly implement it?
pretty much sums up this game as a whole, art/music team killing it, meanwhile the implementation/balance team always finds an opportunity to squander our expectations
I wonder if they regret having him show any skin. Every "new" look they have bled out for them has shown Aether as literally the joke meme about male characters vs female characters in gacha games. He's so iconic in his original outfit, but maybe they just...wish they hadn't had a male character showing any skin at all? It's just weird they are basically not even letting him show a wrist or too much neck anymore lol.
And this clothing will only be worn by women for no reason at all. The girls can go all out to booby boobily all over the place while the men will be dressed like nuns -Hoyo
Besides lumine's coochie freezing into a popsickle, did they really have to give Aether another pair of the most dull looking grey pants? a plain white or pure black would have looked so much more complimentary to the rest of the color scheme
same. reason why i stopped playing the game when I saw that columbina wears the clothes , venti should wear as someone "light" and connection to wind AND more properly to barbatos' look.
then we had columbina with actual 2408384 layers of clothes in the winter night trailer and now we have again someone with almost no clothing ...on the moon...
then we got new skins and aether looks better yes, but has the copy pasted style so many have (durin, albedo, dahlia, kaeya i think (the pants the leather strap) , childe as well.... while lumine gets even shorter skirt and high stockings, tights, boots whatever
But hey, there is a new excuse to add three more layers to male outfits. They may even cover their faces for increased cold protection. Or just not release any and say they were all so cold they couldn't leave their houses.
if the whole point of this outfit is to be cold weather attire or winter clothes, they're incompetent in designing that. the cold doesn't stop being felt at the legs 😭😭. other than that i like these designs tbh.
So Aether’s fully covered, but Lumine’s legs are welcome to freeze in transparent thigh high socks and a micro dress..? Disappointing, but not unexpected.

usually i don’t really care about the skimpy clothes but this is really pissing me off now. ITS COLD WHAT ARE YOU DOING LUMINE. and what’s even worse is that it’s so inconsistent. why is aether fully covered but not lumine or vice versa?

Lumine's outfit looks kinda stupid for cold weather 😭 I don't understand why they couldn't just make it tights all the way. You can still see the thighs if that's what you're into and she wouldn't look cold. This is so dumb
I thought the devs simply didn't care about logic when it came to outfit designs. Almost no character dresses appropriately for their occupation, climate, etc.
The devs outright said they think this Lumine outfit is good for cold weather, so it turns out they really are just that dumb.

they just copy pasted the SAME aethers pants are literally the white ones, high boots 3 layers of clothes while lumine has 3/4 ugly tights of course nude skin....
but aside from the design. you just see all the retcon. they already tried to explain and excuse traveler's sudden shift in "my clothes are important to me I will not change " in natlan with all of a sudden putting swimwear etc, kimono (which traveler refused from ayaka back then), and then the "spacesuit"(yeah still lumine has no spacesuit at all), so I wonder which excuse they will have now that the twins freely have no issue of changing clothes
even worse, if the clothers are not in cutscenes because even tho we now have another outfit, all scenes are with the ugly default one...so where is the point
