By the time we were finishing Sumeru, they were probably wrapping up the story for Natlan, and creating Nodkrai. (The evidence being Varka being mentioned in the 3.1 event where Varka mentioned through Mika that Capitano was headed to Natlan)
Yep. People think Natlan was rewritten last minute when as far as we know, that shit is NOT true at all. Hoyo has their storyline planned out years in advance, alongside gameplay (you can find evidence of this in-game) and we’ve known this for a while now. But some people think that Hoyo is stupid and has no idea what they’re doing with the story… lmao
Could be, but my guess that it is around the time Sumeru was in development.
Genshin was, by the words of the developers themselves, never expected to blow up that much in popularity. They most likely changed some aspects of the story during this phase, especially since we know Genshin was extended from what I believe was a 7 year plan to a 10 year plan. When you extend a story by quite a few years, there are gonna be lots of reworking to do. Altough I do genuinly believe that the main themes and focuses on each region and archon quest has been the same, with characters obviously coming later into the picture.
Well, they have rewritten some things after Inazuma at least.
Like, Liyue Oceanid running away from assassins or a Fontainian engineer running a nuclear reactor in Tarasuna are disconnected from what Fontaine ended up being.
That Travail preview of Natlan showing Iansan as the primary figure and the narrator going "The rules of war are woven in the womb: the victors shall burn bright, while the losers must turn to ash.When the God of War shares this secret with the Traveler, it is because she has her reasons." also in the end had nothing to do with the story in the AQ
But yeah, I can believe that their vision is mostly set in stone since Sumeru
That lines is Nahida comparing herself with Rukhadevata in that scene because it's referencing the AQ of Nahida overshadowed by the death deity (Rukhadevata).
Honestly every friend I play with came ask me if "is this real!?", because I'm their leak guy (not a leaker, just their filter) didn't want to spoil them on this, but literally every single one of them had Dottore on their YouTube feed multiple times.
I successfully avoided it until this was just loud and proud on my home page 😔 I literally had no idea what the boss or quest stuff was and then just BAM lol, oh well.
That's why I never watch the version trailer before clearing the AQ. They tend to spoil and mislead things. I only get the necessary summary in pieces from this sub.
Previously, weekly boss encounters had a long build-up through several story patches and were expected (all Harbingers, Raiden, Whale) , or were just some monster of the week types with some limited story relevance.
Now we have a new Dottore boss right out of the blue spoiled by preview artwork without almost any prior story building up, only a hint of him being alive.
The returning suppose to be dead bad guy is a very common trope in JRPGs and gaming in general and not a bad practice by itself. The concern is, how is it going to be handled.
for some reason people swore up and down that actually they did use it but it was just translated differently for act 4 or 5 or something of the sumeru AQ. i still havent checked whether that’s true or not but i wonder how they’re feeling now 💀
edit: in another comment someone was mentioning that the og CN version was something like akasha kalpa and i rmb act 5 i think was Akasha Pulses, Kalpa Flame Rises (?) so i’m just gonna assume they were correct and we got 2 acts with technically the same name lol
Yea and no. Cn was wordplay on the original title, what looking back it was obviously not the case but that's foresight speaking. We couldn't know how close it was meant to be at the time

The Finale, act 5 of Sumeru was one of the more discussed finale title, because every other nations Finale has been using the title from the Travail teaser. Except for Sumeru
This is the title which was in the first genshin travail trailer when sumeru was seen, which was released even before the game launch.
But when the sumeru last act actually launched it was titled Kalpa flames..... Something... something
So some people believed the change in title is a result of mistranslation where as some people believed this is not the finale of sumeru because whe have seen dottore burning irminsul tree in the winter night lazzo trailer, so this title is the confirmation of this theory
Go watch the travail trailer and winter night lazzo trailer, you will understand
Someone pointed out that this livestream will be on May 8th, which is Collei’s birthday. I’m tempted to just call this a coincidence at first but then I remember this is the company that drip marketed Wanderer on the release date of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Also it's funny that yesterday people were expecting Hoyo to cram every single appearance like their past artworks but here we only saw 7, 2 of them hogged half of the art
It’s why weekly boss splash art leaks are the only story leaks I ever look at. It’s inevitable I’ll get spoiled before the quest even comes out by Hoyo themselves so might as well know early.
Ngl I might have nostalgia bias but Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana is a more aurafull chapter title than Akasha Pulses, The Kalpa Flame Rises. Welcome back king.
People who kept mocking the beleivers who beleived that we will someday get a Archon quest with that title "Truth amongst the pages of purana" by saying it was translation mistake from CN to EN are in shambles 💀
They are really spoiling my girl Nahida with awesome quests.
1. She has probably the best paced and most emotional archon quest chain.
2. Then she gets an epilogue where she gets to shut down the akasha and hints at her maybe remembering a bit of Rukkha.
3. Then she gets an extra quest with Wanderer and Irminsul where she adopts Wanderer.
4. She appears in various events building up her "tiny mom of Sumeru" status
5. Then she gets a 2nd story quest that's all about Egeria and her elemental dragon expanding on her and her region's lore.
6. And she gets a whole ass archon quest expansion pack where it all comes back to hep/haunt her.
As expected, Dottore continues to hog half of the art lmao. Given Collei's lots of dialogues and she got to converse with important figures like Liloupar, it's surprising that she was that small and hidden.
I wish we got to choose between wearing the new or the old fit in quests, at least in non archon quests. Seeing my Lumine back in her old fit just to claim commission rewards is disheartening
I keep forgetting that we actually first "met" her in Sumeru. Probably because her EN voice changed. Actually makes more sense now that she is in this quest.
I mean rerir and dottore in nod-krai were hidden until we encountered them in game so not big of a stretch to expect they'd at least wait until the livestream trailer
We’re coming back to Sumeru?? This whole nod Krai cycle incorporating elements and characters from different regions has been really refreshing.. hope the story is peak 🙏

It's from the Travail teaser from before the game launched. Every concluding Archon Quest has been named after what was in the Travail Teaser except Sumeru. Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana was Sumeru's.
It was the Travail trailer Sumeru subtitle, which was expected to be the name of the final act of Sumeru AQ. However they used a different one in the game when Sumeru AQ launched and so everyone thought the original (this one) was gone for good.
It now actually being used shows they actually intended to use it at one point, this quest. You now see how it is such a deal lol.
