I think they’re saying the opposite, that the buffs make people want to pull, and seeing characters like wrio added here helps with FOMO in the playerbase, driving up banner sales.

Then there's Kazuha, Yelan and Alhaitham that were actually good characters... Kazuha kinda fell off lately and Alhaitham is not relevant anymore, only Yelan is still good since she's hydro and versatile.

But even then, all the characters that got SSC buffs now also have a free con. And Alhaitham's cons aren't even good. They added 4.x characters before giving us all the previous characters (minus the archons).

It's not worthless it's still around a 7% team dps increase I believe. So C1 Wrio in his premium team should be Zibai level (and he's still missing a premium unit). It's also a free step closer to C2 which is an insane constellation. A 3+ cost Wrio should always be better than a 3+ cost Sandrone (going for C2 Wrio + Odette should be stronger than Sandrone + Odette + Yae). It's kind of insane that they give his C1 for free lol.

I bit the bullet and pulled her C1 a couple years ago. I don't spend much on games so it hurt to "waste" all my free pulls on a character I already owned but I don't regret it at all now, she's been in most of my teams since she came out anyway, I get a lot of value out of that con lol. Plus it allowed me to invest in stats other than ER.
Other characters may have "better" exploration skills sure, but hers is the most comfortable to use imo.

Theres only one reason not to put alhaitham on the con selector. He must be getting dendro buffs (rimegrass? or whatever it is they're planning) so they can sell him on a special chronicle wish, just like how wrio was left out of fontaine wish for no reason. Now that wrio had his buff and banner, they can toss him aside and forget him.

Eh, it's still up in the air. The Top Up page also says "Double Crystal bonus valid for first purchase of each value only" and then they reset it every year.
They broke their own rules on putting Shenhe on Chronicle Wsh early. Hoyo is the arbiter for how soft any rule designation is. And it's always in their best interest to under promise and over deliver.

I am mad. If you can't get a 2nd con on these characters, my only options are Keqing, Dehya, and that's literally it. I've been playing for 3 years, and been paying monthly+BP plus an occasional topup in that time, and I own none of the new characters they just added.

Most people will just be using Chiori for IT these days and you can't guarantee Lunar teams there. I still use Chiori in my overworld exploration team for her +10% movement speed passive and that team is full of Natlan characters. It's still nice to kill mobs with that team if I'm farming something from the overworld.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that the point of the selector is to make players happy. That's a side benefit. Genshin is a business and everything they do is with the intention of making money. The point of the selector is to make re-run banners look more tempting, knowing that you can get an extra constellation for free. But only after you rolled for them.

This is just disappointing honestly. I saw it coming but still… I kinda hoped they would at least fill in the gaps and include units such as Kazuha, Yelan, Alhaitham and maybe include Neuvilette with Fontaine.
Like if they don’t remove the “you can’t get multiple constellation” restrictions their first cons are either not even that good or not even good enough to make them insane in 6.X, never mind 7.X. It’s like gatekeeping just to gate keep, I hate it.
Either remove the restriction or let me get the missing units at the very least. Getting a C6 in 6 years isn’t OP. God knows where they’ll be by then.

Well. Like we ever got anything but scraps and rotten food from our Small Indie company that likes to Maximize their Revenues. Looking at these new addition i'm not seeing anyone noticing the pattern. They are literally only giving character with Bad Sales on Banners compared to the others Currently. And pretty much 90% of these characters have shit C1. Its almost nothing at this point . Wish they at least let us collect the character we dont own. I mean pretty much majority of them got powercrept by the new mechanics So i dont see why not.
