Imagine if this is a new method for Hoyo to prevent leaks. Just released an unfinished or wrong model first before fixing them on live server.
Could also work if they want to change characters based on public reception.

it doesnt really prevent leaks, id argue it even outs the "leakers" (speculator) that just says things out their own ass because the ingame assets says so. we can see models ourself so i dont think its our fault to speculate, but it becomes wrong if you shove Reliable tag on it

Definitely possible that the idea of visually different linchpins and visions came after his model was already done.

Lynchpins don't exist for hydro reactions. I mean, Hoyo could definitely make an exception. It would feel weird due to her creating reactions she can't use.

I think Vodyanitsa was more a victim of Mihoyo hating both Varka and Neuvillette. She seems designed specifically to prevent either of them from using SSW

Mm, it could have been wrong on purpose to test the waters and see the reactions. I'm sure they have their way of checking on community feedback outside of surveys.
I would also say it's not the first time they "overlooked" something like that (Chasca had a Cryo-colored gem on her Vision in the Natlan teaser instead of Anemo)

Could be that they originally intended on him being just a normal electro kit-wise but then later decided to make him Stellar electro and just couldn't coordinate with the animation/modeling devs in time.

The artists had most likely finished all of these characters' models well before the gameplay designers or the writers had even come up with the design or implementation of stellar glimmer and stellar linchpins.
It's not like this is the first error we've ever seen with a character's vision, they just usually don't bother to fix them except in skins.

Currently, in a cutscene for the Archon Quest "Everwinter Without Mercy" the model that we use for The Rooster 'Pulcinella' appears incorrect (it should be 100_percent_playable_in_the_future_male_model). This issue will be fixed in future update

i mean if they saw his model internally and that was the leak then they weren't wrong tho but most leaks that i saw said that he was a stellar conduct character with and on-field and off-field mode nothing about him having a vision or a linchpin.
