Oh, truly? I recently activated Flins' C1+C2 after months of sitting on them, so I'll have to try this. Not that he isn't already obliterating everything, but any reason to not have to hear Sucrose's new voice (no hate to the VA) I'll take.
Well Hoyo finally heard the hate about LanYan and decided to give her one final banner before getting eliminated by Ineffa who's a much better shielder and has way more utility.
RIP to everyone who, like me, C6'd and built her only for it to result in major waste of time and resources. 🥀
As another Lan Yan fan, she was sort of the end of generalists being the top of the meta. And worse, she is a 1:1 competitor with Sucrose that can’t do EM or activate hex buffs, so she’s a sidegrade in weaker teams and a downgrade in meta ones. Her shield just isn’t strong enough to make up for that
I’m not saying her shield isn’t strong. A better phrase would have been her shield isn’t worth enough anymore. The move towards joined core teams has meant that most meta teams have sustain built in (Ineffa for Flins) or better options (Lan Yan’s shield is arguably stronger than Zhongli’s at C2+ but Anemo does nothing for Zibai, she doesn’t give anything to Nefer, Alyosha is a free healer for stellar, hex teams can use her but she’s competing with every other sustain for second place with Nicole). Lan Yan was designed to do 3 things and when she shares 2 with Sucrose, her 3rd needs to be better than an EM buff and her shield just isn’t.
I've always been under the impression that Lanyan was released as an IT support rather than as a Sucrose sidegrade.
She scales with:
EM, Atk, Anemo dmg, and crit, which normally makes balancing her stats ridiculously hard, except in IT which buffs the hell out of attack and EM so you don't have to build them.
She has CC, IR, sustain, and does a shit ton of damage in IT (thanks to all the buffs, I've gotten her to hit 60k*5 per skill lol *and that's without any buffs from her team)
Her niche is in being a secretly overpowered IT subdps/dps imo, she can even delete bosses in 20s with 2 skills and a burst lol.
I got her to c4 by pulling her on the standard & weapon banner 😩
Every limited banner she was on I skipped due to something more important coming the patch after.
And now again she is on a banner that I was going to skip.l, bloody hell
I'm on c5 for more than a year now. I already have Ineffa and Flins and two pizza cutters. I'm not touching this banner. I'm just gonna let Mavuika keep gathering dust until I get Iansan C6 (maybe in Khaenriah 🤞 lol)
Wow, two 4 stars I desperately want cons for (Iansan and Lan Yan) on a banner I have already pulled to the extent I need (got C2R1 Flins and C0R1 Ineffa). I feel personally robbed, lol
Same, I have C0R1 Flins and C0R0 Ineffa and that's my best team by far, so I really don't need fo pull for their cons, but at the same time I wish I could build Lan Yan and my Iansan is C4 :( I just have to skip because I tried to get Alyosha to c6 and I'm at 40 pity guaranteed for Vesna
To be fair flins c1 is quite good and makes him feel better to play
So unless you REALLY want Vesna more than the other characters you mentioned it's not actually that bad of a banner for you
I think it's genuily the first time in some years I plan to pull on a banner (for Ineffa) and not all 4* are not C6. Aino was expected. Iansan is a miracle.
My Iansan and Aino are both C3, is getting them to C6 worth using a 50/50 on Arlecchino/Odette/Flins/Ineffa if I have them all at C0 (so I'd be risking getting their C1)? And if yes which one should I do?
Getting Flins cons lowers his reliance on Ineffa. Yes Ineffa is still BiS, but the gap is smaller so in case you want to use Ineffa elsewhere, Flins’ cons help close the gap.
Her c1 is good enough, close to his in overall dmg. but both have strong c2, hers is 40% increase to her c0, for example. Don't listen to haters that clearly aren't Flins mains. No idea why you had to even type "how much of a waste" abt hers, like they're useless, but oh well, not surprised if clueless 😩
It's just that I pulled on every Iansan banner, have 6 5-stars from them, but still only Iansan C5. So I'll probably get a view Ineffa constellations before I get my final Iansan, and I wanted to know how much of a waste these constellations are going to be.
how do u have that many?! wasn't she almost always with Varesa's banner? should've invested in her cons, instead tbh.. Anyways, Flip has made some vids abt her, icy veins have the %. tldr; c1 team dmg increase, c2 big personal dmg increase.
Like most recent limited 5-star releases - C1 and C2 are solid improvements to Ineffa
No point going further than C2 - unless ur willing to go the distance till max C6
Man oh man I've got primos saved but I am going to spend on this banner. Fuck the meta, I want a male DPS and Bineffa, i want to c6 aino and iansan for my mavuika team (do i need to c6 aino for flins team if i have bineffa?)
your comment doesn't make much sense. why "but" if u want to pull there, regardless? 😂 You don't need aino if u have bineffa, she's Bina's sidegrade. if u dont wanna use sucrose, sure a c6 aino is preferable as 4th slot
Out of these 2 who would get a bigger upgrade from their signature weapon? Before you say to get either of their C1s, I prefer getting weapons for characters and I already have Ineffa's C1 because I got a double during her last banner. Flins has been running around with an R3 Prospector's Shovel because weekly bosses don't want to give me any billets at all.
OMG iansan????? this will be the first banner with iansan on it that i actually want to pull on! still sitting on c2 but my kinich would really love her c6 🙏 (tho knowing my luck, i don't expect more than 1 copy from my 80 pulls)
Wait, this makes me think. Is this a sign of the Natlan chronicled wish? Like, Iansan probably won't be on, for example, Varesa's banner bc she'll be moved to the Natlan chronicled instead along with the other Natlan 5*? I hope not. I still have two more Kinich cons to get.
I don't actually see where the Natlan characters can fit rn for reruns.. in the next few patches they gotta fit Zibai/Linnea (7.2 second half?), Varka (7.2 beside Mitya?), Nefer/Lauma, and then it'll be time to rerun Sandrone or Odette already, plus start the Archon train (which they can honestly tie with Chronicle banners at this point)
It’s an appropriate timing to have a Natlan Chronicled, since multiple Natlan characters have not gotten a rerun for a long time. Kinich, Mualani, Varesa, and Xilonen are all long due for a rerun.

Similar boat (C3 Iansan & C0 Ineffa, no Flins).
Assuming Bineffa/Sucrose premium 4th slot like Linnea/Xilonen/Durin it might be really close - like Jello has R0 Ineffa at 116k while R0 Flins/Ineffa/Bina/Sucrose at 140k. Ineffa C1 is up to 15% boost so we'd be at ~133k.
Still an extra character is straight up better since it frees up premium buffer for another team and we can use them in IT too. He seems nifty to play too.
Low-key wanted to go for Flins, because of his basic attack name (that I learned about after his initial banner), but I was already invested into Nefer team, by his rerun.
Yeah tough one, Iansan is so goated but always hard to go for a character you don’t want/need. I hope I can get her in 30 pulls, I will do singles like a rat 😂
My flins is c2r1. Fighting back demons not to swipe and go all the way. Don't have iansan and ineffa (since I didn't want her) but since i main flins, might as well get his premium team (and finally get iansan too who's always stuck with varesa lol).
