When they grow up and fight, show them this video.

u/VeterinarianKin 2h ago
Hopefully they remember this moment more than the arguments they’ll have later.
94
u/AloyDarkshine 2h ago
Arguments help train how to problem solve. It’s not always just pointless conflict.
34
u/Askan_27 2h ago
yeah. growing up I had the occasional fights with my sister. my mum kept an eye on us, ensuring things didn’t get physical, but she always said that we needed to solve our own problems. And it worked, because we grew up having good communication and went through teenage with less and less fights.
18
u/Olga-of-Kiev103 2h ago
She was smart to keep an eye on you guys. My mom did this, but didn't bother monitoring it, so my three years older brother basically got free reign to bulldoze me on everything; and he did it A LOT because he had anger issues. I couldn't even state a mild preference without him going into full fight mode about it.
As an adult I have a severe aversion to debates and arguments because I just see them as draining and pointless, and it's taken a lot of therapy to not shut down whenever someone tries debating with me on something.

Do the Pete and Pete gag. Get them both standing with a white sheet poncho on, and project it onto each other.
•
u/louisvillejg 16m ago
I’m always showing my now 17 and 14yr old pics and vids of them being sweet and loving when they were little
That solidifies the love they have in between them wrestling, fighting, yelling, and roasting each other worse than any enemies I’ve ever seen.

u/kellybluey 2h ago
At age 60, they would be fighting in court for who gets the lion’s share of inheritance.
3
u/ShadeofIcarus 2h ago
Nah man it doesn't have to be like that with brothers. There's more important shit than money and if I ended up with more for whatever reason I'd just make him whole and I know he'd do the same for me.
I'm there if he needs me no matter what.

I have no idea that babies grow that quickly 😭😭
83
u/ThePolemicist 1h ago
Yes, they really do. When you're a parent, sometimes there are stages your baby goes through that feel impossible. For example, a baby might go through a stage where they are crying every single night for hours, or a stage where they just won't sleep longer than a couple of hours at a time. It's brutal when you go through it. With my first child, I thought that was going to be my new life. It felt permanent. But, like you just saw, it's all temporary. Babies grow so fast. By the time I had my second, I was able to let a lot more roll of my back and not get to me because I knew all that stuff was temporary and that she'd grow out of all that stuff in no time.
A common phrase people tell new parents is: The days are long, but the years are short.
Think about where you were 4 years ago, in 2022, post-pandemic. If you had a baby in 2022, that child would be off to preschool this year. It goes so fast!
•
u/DearLav 25m ago
I really have no idea! I'm the youngest child in my family and my siblings as well as cousins don't have children of their own yet so I rarely see babies. I've always heard this narrative online about how babies are hassles, not worth it in this economy, blablabla, so my opinion of them is rather mixed. But now that I've seen this, I know why my mom says how she misses having babies around. They're quite cute actually! And kind of transient? I don't know how to describe it but they're such a wonder to see. It makes me think that maybe it's not as bad as people make it out to be to have one of my own in the future. I'm definitely looking forward to playing with my nieces and nephews in the future at the very least.

Holy shit the kid was walking at 9 months. Mine didnt walk til she was 12 months.
18
u/Many_Big_6324 1h ago
It really depends on child, for us it was:
Kid 1 -14 months
Kid 2 -8.5 months (we were quite shocked tbh)
Kid 3 - 12.5 months3
u/efficient_giraffe 52m ago
At 14 months I'd start secondguessing myself even though there's no reason to
And then the 8.5 month one you'd be in complete disbelief, haha
1
u/scarletnightingale 32m ago
Mine were kid 1 - 10 months, then got scared of walking because he didn't want to fall and refused to walk again much till close to 12 months, kid 2 -11.5 months then became unstoppable. Now a terrible climber at 17 months.
4
u/xwcg 54m ago
our first one walked with 8 months, the second with 10. I could have punched everyone who kept telling me to not worry because they wont start walking until they're at least 1 year. Its way too young, a baby with no concept of any sort of consequences running around and climbing things... nightmare.

u/Ajido_Marujido 53m ago
A friend of ours had a baby who is 1.5 now, we see her once every 1-3 weeks and the differences are so noticeable in that short period of time, both in size and just new things she's doing.

And let them wear colours
So much brown in this
63
u/Ha55aN1337 4h ago
Nah, they look fine. Hope their toys don’t all look beige because of their development, but who are we to tell parents how to dress their kids. Most kids are dressed fugly. These 2 are pretty cool.
12
u/RevDrMavPHD 2h ago
Little kids and babies dressed stylishly is probably one of my favorite things. Its so cute! Theyre like little people, lol
-16
u/cam-san 4h ago
Kids are supposed to be dressed like kids, not little adults.
5
u/Ha55aN1337 1h ago
Why? Do they also need to be dressed blue and pink? Who makes these rules? These 2 are dressed better than 90% of kids.
-12
u/Tonedeafmusical 4h ago edited 3h ago
I mean im an adult and I dont wear anywhere near that amount of brown. Kids love colour let them wear it

u/cunt__cunt_cunt 2h ago
k say why pls.
Feel like this is going to get a lot of anger, but I just want to hear some reasoning.
I think reddit is fundamentally only going to upvote stuff that is basically evil, so something that is actually good has to be called evil to make sense to redditors.
19
u/SunshineInDetroit 2h ago
The main reason is precisely this video. This person is not the parent, they've pulled the video from whatever social media and propogating it wherever.
-7
u/cunt__cunt_cunt 2h ago
The main reason is precisely this video.
So say what's wrong with the video?
Say those are my kids, I think it's wonderful, I think it's this really wonderful thing for everyone to see.
?
I'm not advocating for people to share their kids online: better safe than sorry, surely, but I'm skeptical in the ways I said about the reaction here.
8
u/SelocAvrap 2h ago
If you think you really have to post it, blur their faces! You can share the sentiment without irrevocably sharing their image with strangers
8
u/Ironic_Toblerone 2h ago
Basically, the child doesn’t have the option to say “please don’t put my images online” because they aren’t developed enough to be able to even see what their parents are doing.
Also imagine if your bullies could find all the embarrassing shit you did as a kid and now use it against you because your parent posted this “funny video” of you .
Huge violation of privacy and can massively impact the kid later in life.
20
u/Logical_Net6108 2h ago
AI generated abuse images can use a real face from an innocent video like this. Sad but it is definitely happening

u/Flope 34m ago
This is some unhinged thinking.

This is walking with assistance which is 50th percentile at 9 months according to the WHO, walking unassisted is 12 months 50th percentile

u/TeaReasonable7909 35m ago
My baby brother walked at 10 months and I was flabbergasted. He was literally running around during his first birthday party, someone had to physically catch him when it was time to cut the cake.

Cute but why are adults exploring children for Internet points? I've seen other videos with this exact same setup. The kids are taught to give hugs to their younger sibling for the camera

u/Icculus13 3h ago
Kids (and adults) have been told to stand in front of cameras since cameras were invented
8
u/cunt__cunt_cunt 2h ago
Hey maybe no one should share a vid of their kids online, but your comment is insane.
Cute but why are adults [sharing vids of thier] children [online]?
Because it's cute! Becuase it's meaningful! Because it is life affirming?
Did you only write your souless comment for "internet points"? Are you completely dead inside?
2
u/RonnieFromTheBlock 1h ago
You know your last sentence is 100% true.
Some of the same people making comments like this are also probably child free and annoyed whenever one throws a tantrum around them in public.
They don't care about random children. The children are just a means to be self-righteous against the parents.
2
u/OverkillNeedleworks 41m ago
I think the people concerned about these videos are just online enough to be aware of how dangerous this is and how many freaks out there save videos like this for bad reasons.
2
u/RonnieFromTheBlock 35m ago
As someone chronically on reddit, that seems naive.
Every thread, about every subject, is filled with self-righteous takes.
These comments are typically based on sound arguments but then taken to the extreme in an attempt to out superior everyone else. Once you pick up on this you see it in every single thread.

Using your kids for internet points like this is gross. The joy you get from your children should be personal, if your joy is predicated on the attention and praise of others, you’re seriously damaged.

u/ladydmaj 2h ago
Aside from the "don't put your kids on the Internet because adults are gross" caveat: I'm seriously impressed with the older kid. It's obvious in the last few takes how much the younger kid looks up to and trusts him, and he must be facilitating that feeling in some way in how he interacts with his younger brother. (Assuming both are AMAB here.)

That's a very cute baby. My son was less than sold on my younger son when I brought him home. Now he yells "brother's awake!" because he's excited he's gotten up in the morning or woken up from his nap, even when he hasn't woken up yet which often wakes him up. They still fight and stuff because they are toddlers but they definitely love each other.
