Is Chris Martin part of Coldplay? Why would one of the band members check on someone in the audience who happened to be having an affair?
Amoral, not his responsibility. If you don’t want to get caught in an affair then don’t have one, especially not so publicly. Whatever happened were the consequences of her own actions.

The post reads like some asked her if he ever checked in on her and she responded “No. Never did.” That’s not as crazy as people are making it out to be

It's from an article 4 months ago. Some TMZ guy asked her real quick after a speech.
After the outcry Martin’s remark caused, she was asked if Coldplay’s lead vocalist had ever followed up with her. “Nope. No,” she replied, “never did.” But it would be “great” if he did, she added.
Cabot was also asked about attending another Coldplay concert. “No, I’m all set,” she replied.
So a) why would Martin reach out to you? b) why would you avoid a Coldplay concert specifically? They do kiss cams and fan cams at any large event that has a jumbotron and c) it seems like she learned nothing, is taking no responsibility, and appears to lay the blame directly at the feet of Coldplay/Martin.

u/YuriDiculousDawg 7d ago
Sounds more to me like TMZ twisted her words to conjure up a story out of nonsense

I feel like you have really bad media literary to have the quotes right in front of you and draw some conclusions not at all implied by the text.
She was asked very direct specific questions, and her words were 'Nope, no, never did' and 'No, I'm all set'. And you've imagined a world were she feels entitled to his attention, and where she is blaming him for her problems. Nothing she said indicates that.

u/Grunergeist420 7d ago edited 7d ago
No, I think you’re just reading into these answers too much. This is tabloid crap. They just make it as sensational as possible.
Has Chris Martin reached out to her? She answers honestly, no, and then they paraphrase her saying it would be “great” if he did.
She probably just gave a totally normal person answer. Like you could take the above quotes from something like:
“No, nope, never did. I didn’t expect him to, of course, but that would be great if he did, I’m a big fan.”
Then they ask if she wants to attend another Coldplay concert and she probably just answered in the sense that she wouldn’t want the publicity or to relive that event, “No, I’m all set.”
They just quote little bits here and there and place it in a context to make it sound like she’s bitter Chris Marrtin didn’t reach and is boycotting Coldplay because that’s more fun.
You can do this with almost any interview, just chop up and paraphrase what a person says and place in a context that makes it sound like whatever you want.

u/bandfrmoffmychest 7d ago
lol still out of context, the 24 second tmz clip is literally on the page you linked.
“Would you appreciate if he did?”
“Yep, that would be great!”
a) she didn’t imply he should, b) from the article you posted:
Cabot faced between fifty and sixty death threats, and she termed the paparazzi outside of her home a “parade.” She dealt with up to 600 calls a day during the height of the Coldplay storm. Her children feared for their lives and were too embarrassed to be seen with her in public. In The Times of London, she said that she was now “the most maligned HR manager in HR history.”
… I could see why someone might be a little traumatized when a billion people, the amount of a continent, hate you.
c) lol what?

She allegedly did not know the guy was still with his wife, which the article mentions. So assuming that she is telling the truth, what blame would she carry exactly?
It also does not seem like she is mad at Coldplay, she answered a question that she was directly asked. As far as not going to another Coldplay concert specifically, presumably because they ate forever going to remind her of this incident. Why the hell would she go to another one?

Unless someone in the media was just looking for a juice headline and asked her directly, “did Chris Martin ever check on you?” In which case her answer is perfectly normal and grounded.
Not at all condoning her poor life choices or defending her, uhh, character.
8
u/LaserGuyDanceSystem 7d ago
Yeah, the quote begins with "nope", which would suggest that she is answering a yes or no question about Chris checking on her.

I used to know some decent HR people, but that was ~25+ years ago and they were approaching retirement at the time. They got involved when it was a pretty cushy office job, and it was primarily an administrative and compliance job.
One of them once complained that she hated her company's office Christmas party because it resulted in a bunch of "kids" getting drunk, sleeping together, it would get weird, and she would end up with a bunch of paperwork. She worked for a very large company that mostly employed people in their 20s, and the owners liked the open bar.

You can easily make this article by asking trap questions.
q:"Hi, do you mind if I ask question?"
a:"...It depends?"
q:"Did Chris Martin checked on you after what happened?"
a:"No, never did...?"
q:"Would you attend their show again?"
a:"No..."I got a headline boys.

“Holy entitlement”
Just clickbait. The reporter asked her if they’d reached out and she said no, and was as confused about the question as you or I would have been.
They used that to say “she told us that Chris Martin never even reached out to her!”
136
u/Turkeysocks 7d ago
Amoral. It's not Chris Martin or Coldplay's fault that you were caught, on the kiss cam, having an affair with your boss. The whole point of the kiss cam is to show couples who are together (dating or married) kissing to hype the rest of the audience. You went to a public place, got caught on camera having an affair, and you want to blame EVERYONE but yourself.
14
u/Patient_Emu_470 7d ago
It also never would have gotten the attention it did if they just played it off like every other couple, lol. We didn't see any other couples kiss cam. They typically don't go viral

It seems she answered a reporters question and it was taken a little out of context. The fact she said she’ll never go to another Coldplay concert again indicates that she blames something outside herself. Maybe not Coldplay specifically, maybe not the venue, but it’s obvious she feels like it’s the fault of some external factor that went along with going to a Coldplay concert

Bet she doesn't do anymore interviews after the way the media is framing this one.
She'll still find another way to stab herself in the foot down the road. Maybe it's her thing.
