Found a good use for an LLM. It's from O Brother, Where Art Thou. According to GPT anyways, don't quote me on it because I haven't watched it to confirm.
Why do they ask a "tough" question like "why not give it now?" But they refuse to ask "you promised checks twice before in less than 2 years that never happened. Why would anyone believe you this time?"Ā
Obviously they would lose access, but this is theatre designed to look like journalism.Ā
It needs time trickle down. Inadequate fermentation and you got yourself a socialism infection and then you die according to basic reaganomics. I read this in a book from that time period.
not to be mean or something but aren't the tariffs paid by the companies and they just tell you basically what the tariffs would be and expect you to pay it?
you don't pay it directly to the state or something. it's the value the company has to pay for that transaction. suuuuure they could pay you back, but there is no law that says so, so why doing it? lol
It is more than sure that the individual customer will never get the tariffs they paid for imported goods back, ever. it is also such a huge amount of money, that it would do great harm to all sorts of things.
I am extremely surprised that the americans let their government do all this unlubed. Seriously, that must hurt very bad.
Imagine if thats the charge that they get him with? Imagine, if despite EVERYTHING, when the judge finally delivers his sentence, its because of nothing but a few poopy pants charges.
Edit: to clarify, my brain was on the "man its crazy that they caught al capone with tax evasion" tangent after noticing my username is my old gamertag from like 17 years ago
First thing that popped into my mind. Pretty blatant too.
Unfortunately, it'll work with some people, who can't see the forest for the trees. And also unfortunately, he won't be punished for it. People are so desensitized to the corruption that this barely pings on the radar.
Mob shit. If George here gets elected as mayor, he might just throw a city contract your way. People have been charged with bribery for the inference of an exchange, you don't actually have to say it (or actually follow through) if it's clear what they mean. What trump is saying is VERY clear, particularly when he says shit like OP here. This is clearly illegal solicitation of votes, but it's not like the DoJ bootlickers are going to open a case.
or pays or offers to pay or accepts payment either for registration to vote or for voting shall be fined not more than $10,000 or imprisoned not more than five years, or both:
It is really quite simple. Republicans are physically incapable of accepting responsibility, period. It will ALWAYS be someone else's fault. Prove me wrong, PLEASE or FIND A CURE FOR YOUR DISEASE.
Anyone who believes anything that Trump says, but particularly this, is so incredibly deep in the cult and/or stunningly stupid, that no amount of persuasion or appeal to reality will change their minds.
Trump has shown time and time again that he desperately craves adoration and approval. It's the reason why he does all of his goddamn rallies even after winning. It's the reason he makes all the false promises he does. He will say ANYTHING to get praise from his audience.
And the fact that he's never been held accountable for anything gives him absolutely zero hesitation to make whatever false promises he thinks of in the moment. You literally cannot trust a single word that comes out of his mouth. The fact people even entertain this most recent lie is mind boggling.
Like when Biden was clearly losing his mind from old age, Democrats/media were telling people he is sharp as a tack, and the die hard supporters were like YEA HE IS FINE.
A better question is why they aren't saying they'll spend the $500 Billion that'd work out to per 100 million payees by paying down the national debt. Are they afraid it'd trivialize their efforts to privatize federal systems?
As we saw with the stimulus money, it gets the economy heated in a hurry with all this money being spent, but the result is inflation and higher interest rates.
But the stupid doesnāt stop there:
* JD Vance said this was possible because the tariffs were generating so much money (his words, I know that isnāt how it works), but Americans never received the $2K promised months ago from the bounty of riches that the tariffs allegedly brought. Are we supposed to receive $7K now? Promising me $5,000 just reminds me that he promised me $2,000 earlier this year.
* Trump said the $5K must be spent in the US, which is as stupid as it is impossible to enforce. If I deposit the money in my Fidelity account and one of the funds has holdings in Canadian companies (or anywhere else outside the US), whoās going to know? Nobody. Itās one of those highly specific details he always adds which is the tell that this is something heās spinning on the spot.
And the Tariff money is money illegally taken from US citizens by Trump, and apparently just can't be returned to us individually, only to the corporations who passed on the charges.
Eh, not really. While Democrats have added to the national deficit, more often than not Democratic Presidents have historically shrunk the deficit, while Republicans have added to it. Trump alone between his two terms has added over 10 trillion (and still counting) to the national debt.
Trump said he won't need Congress to do it. So it doesn't matter about Democrats since there won't be a vote. You can see in real time how the lie completely falls apart in a short amount of time.
Remember he said heās the President of Peace? Proceeds to rename Department of Defense into Department of War and start stuff up with Iran! So much winning and so much promises made and kept!
And did she follow up on that ridiculous non-answer with anything useful? No, of course she didnāt. The Dems have absolutely nothing to do with his bullshit lies and it makes no sense. The GOP already controls everything. So fucking call him out on it. Worthless shit media.Ā
But I thought Democrats are always trying to give away government money?? Isn't that Conservatives' biggest complaint? So why would Democrats want to block the one thing that they are so good at, according to Conservatives?
and I found this in an article in The Hill posted this morning:
Vance defended the proposal, calling the payments a ādividend for American workers.ā
āWeāre taking in an extraordinary amount of revenue,ā he said, referring to the revenue generated by Trumpās tariffs, which he said Americans should receive a share of. The administration previously floated $2,000 tariff dividends.
āIf you keep us in power and allow us to continue to do these things, then youāre going to share in some of the benefit of this incredible wealth that weāre creating in the United States of America,ā the vice president continued. āI donāt think itās a controversial idea.ā
honestly, this has to be the line for these idiot supporters. Continually claiming these tariffs are bringing in so much money while literally everything in normal life gets way more expensive. Like...they have to see it at some point that it's all so insane. But yeah, we're truly dumb as fuck.
It's interesting. Someone, who I trust to give me accurate information, told me this. I believed it and repeated it. I just asked them for a source and they said "I read it somewhere." I can't find a source backing it up. I'm gonna delete everywhere I said that. Thanks for calling me out.
You guys know how this works right? He would have to make 1.5 trillion in payouts, which is about 4% of the already astronomical national debt. That's like selling the future of your kids and grandchildren for a trip to disneyland.
Dems should be on the campaign trail demanding the GOP get into session and do it right now then.Ā Say they'll pass it TODAY, no election vote strings attached.
The problem is, the media never follows up on his inane comments, and his supporters (some of whom we need to either not vote or vote for Democrats) create their own "sane" reality by picking and choosing individual words he says to satisfy themselves he's normal.
Paying people to vote is pretty standard in third world countries to the extent that any aspiring person is expected to fund that money himself to get into politics, which is a lot. I never ever thought I will see this day in the U.S. though. Worst part is these fuckers are falling for lies and voting without even getting the money.
Itās a safe bet for Trump. Thereās zippy chance GOP doesnāt lose big, but thereās enough gullible people out there that might help them save a couple seats. Either way, no one is getting a check.
I love how we're just ok with our president committing a Federal Felony by attempting to bribe the entire country to vote his way and no one is saying anything about, I don't know, impeachment, arrest, anything.. /s
I would NEVER defend Trump or his corruption ... but I'm baffled as to why people keep making this argument. Why would Trump's "bribe" (In reality, he'll NEVER deliver...) work if he makes the payment BEFORE he gets the action he wants?

Still waiting for my DOGE check and my tariff refund.
