I'm with you. I dislike this assumption that double checking something is a sign of incompetence when we have easy access to trusted sources

YouTube is not a trusted source

You know hospitals, health organizations and medical colleges upload videos to youtube, right? Its not just some influencer with an AI video.

Bold assumption.

For years Doctors would roll their eyes at WebMD, and we're supposed to just forget that and be totes chill about a YouTube pull? lmao

If the information is accurate, great, give me a fucking discount on the bill.

Theres verification checkmarks for doctors on youtube, who have submitted their credentials.

Cool man, is there a system in place on YouTube for verifying the information contained is accurate, current, and agreed upon by the regulatory bodies that oversee the medical field?

Youtube is a virtual monopoly of video streaming at this point. Most news sites upload their video to youtube and link to it on their sites.

Point being, comparing it to WebMD is dumb on its face. Anyone who needs to show videos and doesnt want to host it on their own aervers uses Youtube, and that definitely includes medical colleges, hospitals, and medical organizations. Not only are there verification steps that actual accredited hospitals use on Youtube that scammers cant get, doctors will know the name of a hospital and can look up videos uploaded on their channel.

And you want a discount for them being informed? What, if they came in and told you they hadnt looked anything on the surgery up, would you pay them more?

Buddy, we're paying these fuckers billions of dollars already. All I'm asking is that we take this field off the damn pedestal and treat them like normal working professionals. We are billed as if we're reaching into the divine for this sacred information that is contained on the free and open internet.

Doctors upload all the time and theres even verification checkmark on youtube for verified doctors who have submitted credentials, hospitals will have custom playlists from other doctors as well.
