I have ITP and just got discharged from the hospital I went in with a count of 1,000 platelets which is very bad considering you should have at least 150,000. I couldn't go to the oncology/ hematology floor as I've got covid. So they put me on the respiratory floor even though I had no actual respiratory issues aside from a runny nose. The nurses were a bit confused but understood they couldn't risk exposing the people with cancer to my germs. They weren't thrilled at the prospect of doing transfusions 😬

Hey same!!! Sorry you're going through it too. Been in the hospital quite a bit since I tend to fall under 10k a lot. But I've been stable for over a month and staying positive with this new plan! Wish you all the best!

Well hi! Don't bump into our folk terribly often! Congrats on being stable for a month, that is fantastic!! I tend to live anywhere from 40,000-70,000 without meds. Even with meds though when I get a viral illness (covid this time) nothing stops the tail spin and I end up in the hospital. I have had it for about 22 years and have tried everything but nothing fixed it. If you don't mind me asking what regiment are you on?

22 years?! I'm only a year and a half in and it's been exhausting! 12 hospital visits and lots of changes in meds already. Currently doing cyclosporine (to lower my immune system) and weekly nplate shots 🤞
