When I was in school for engineering I was flat out told that after graduation I needed to have all of these equations written on a clip board I carried around so that I would never get them wrong. Then I was told that would be cheating in school and that I had to memorize them.

The only way to never have a mathematical error is to use a calculator for even basic addition and to plug it into an equation that is directly in front of your face.

Wise words tbh.

I'm a nurse and I often tell my students when they're doing their working practices that it's better to know where to find the info you need rather than trying to memorize it.

The databases we often use get updated rather frequently.

And being familiar with the layout of these few databases is going to help you a lot.

Just don't Google "what is a code blue"....I know of a case someone did this and was terminated. Little extreme or a case to do that, but going to probably guess they had several fumbles or someone just wanted them gone.

Exactly, when I was doing my degree and masters, I made an entire notebook full of equations with full explanations, pictures and notes, and a key for finding stuff.

When I was doing my undergrade dissertation, I made yet another note book with photographs and explanations l, working and general musings. My tutor liked that one enough that it went missing for several months after I handed my work on for marking. Turns out he was using it as a prop and example for other students.

Lots of people try and keep all their notes on a tablet ect, but a fat note book is extremely convenient. Why burn up your brain trying to remember this shit when you can have it on paper right in front of you.
