Like a child waiting for permission

Yep, a carbon copy of me trying to teach my 3 and 5 year old to downhill ski. I tell them 9 million times on the lift that they have to go slow, remember to brake and turn etc.
But nope.
When I say "ok, you can go now" they just fucking bomb the slope and I have to catch up to basically tackle them to the ground so they don't crash into someone.
Kids are idiots.

My 5 year old nephew only ever does the pizza, but he pizza's in a straight line downhill at Mach 10 🤣

u/LankySandwich 3d ago
I'm so glad I got proper ski lessons before I was allowed up on the slopes, I would have killed myself.

I used to coach kids skiing and I know exactly the type. In their defense kids that age haven’t really developed the muscle control to brake and steer well so straight lining is the least effort way to get down the hill. Plus they’re so bendy and low to the ground at that age that crashing is barely a consequence

u/city-of-cold 2d ago
I put them both on skis and skates before they were two, for their age they do surprisingly well! They just don't listen lol, much more fun going fast. And I don't blame them.

u/Calm-Technology7351 1d ago
It’s good to get them started young. I also started when I was two. Maybe you could make it into a game. I’m pretty sure my dad would have us play follow the leader and we’d take turns leading. At the very least it got me to make turns whenever he was in front

u/TeenWolf1787 19h ago
I did that when my dad taught me. Thankfully nobody but me got hurt, and luckily I wasn’t hurt badly. I learned a good lesson at an early age.

actual years thinking the two girls with the hose was the official video. When my daughter was little we'd watch it and it was our favorite music video.

Someday in the far future when we study the merging of global languages we will identify one word as the first word to be truly universal to the human race. The first step towards restoring humanity to the state of unity that existed before the Tower of Babel. That word will be "fuck."

If it's that you don't have the app, you can still watch it from the link. Just delete everything in the address from the question mark onwards
13
u/BowsersMuskyBallsack 4d ago
I deleted everything after the question mark and I still got a video covered in so much shit I could barely see the video. Fucking useless.

I saw this recently somewhere. The dog gets reduced from the water.
Edit: meant to say rescued, but the responses to the typo are so great I’m leaving it.

I had a dog to exactly this once when walking along a river, because the algae looked like a grass.
Had to climb into the crap to drag his stupid ass out. Naturally, he thanked me by shaking himself all over me.

My dog did something similar, except it it was over a barrier onto a busy highway. Luckily there was a gap in cars, but it scared the hell out of me
