Pro tip for those out there looking for work, Those showing pictures of their family and the guy holding out his wallet are saying the same thing. They need money to support their family, and this is blatantly obvious to everyone, including the interviewer asking you these questions.
So if an interviewer asks you what's your reason for working here, saying "money" is a stupid answer, because it's obvious. Interviewers might find you to be a better hire if you have some other factor, like people depending on you to support them. I know when I was asked the same question I talked about supporting my family, and when asked "why do you want to work here" I said because I know my friend who works there had told me that the place is reliable and stable and if owned by someone who keeps his businesses in the family.
So yes, we all want money, but money is good because it means being able to support people we love (even if this is just yourself) and a place that will offer good dependable employment is important to get money for long periods of time.

But it's not dishonest. I DO want to support my family. And while money is obviously needed for that, it also can imply you want something stable. While I want money, if a job offers me 5,000 dollars more a year, I might not take it if it's a newer company in a volatile industry.
Like, you're not super smart or Mr logic man for thinking the only honest answer the answer to "why do you want to work?" Or "why do you want to work here," is "money".

You phrase this like they are mutually exclusive but I have no idea what you mean. If motivation is the force produced by the motivator, then 'what motivates you' CAN EQUAL 'who gives you motivation' just fine. I look forward to your elucidation.

This is like saying what motivates someone to bake a cake and him saying "Because I'll have a cake."
The motivation might be to eat the cake, to give it to someone, to sell, it or to keep it and show it to people but its not just "Why cake? Because cake!"
Money by itself is intrinsically worthless, it only gets value from what you use it for, that is the underlying motivation in acquiring it even if it is only for status, or to fill some psychological hole.
That aside, plenty of people work for reasons totally outside of money, e.g. to develop skills, to challenge themselves, to have a direct impact on other people's lives, to create inspirational art, etc.

It’s not like buying a new gpu every other week, but I do like to try new accessories and components, like fancy new RGB fans. I recently bought a brand new heat sink for my ssd since my motherboard didn’t come with one. Did it help? Not really, but it looks nicer on motherboard. :p

Hobby like any other tbh and every hobby can eat up all your disposable income no matter how much money you make. Arguably even a positive twist imo because it's not a basic need and survival but for something that brings joy. If someone had shown a tuned up car nobody would bat an eye.

Yes, money. But also I feed birds around my office, and my windowsill, and during my lunch break at the nearby park. They're a huge part of why I drag my ass to the office in the morning. As soon as I park my car my day is brightened when all the jackdaws come flying out from every nook and cranny, I hate the thought of having to skip a day and disappoint them!

It seems cliche but to try and be the best at what I do. Money of course plays into it, but I am lucky in that if I chose any job in the world to do, I already do it. I'm definitely not saying it would necessarily be with this company or that there are not bad things that I wouldn't change, but overall IT work in general and IT security specifically are my choice of professions of anything in the world. I do it in my spare time as well because I love it so much. I do hate the politics portion of it though and do everything possible to avoid politics, but as my career has progressed and moved up, it cant be completely avoided.
