Yeah one of my blink cameras happened to be set low on some bricks so we could watch for unwanted animals in the yard. Batteries died and I went to replace and ants just started exploding out of it like a horror movie. They were the teeny tiny kind just panic scrambling as soon as the back popped. Horrifying.

I learned that day that they love a warmed home and will pick electronics if they can fit.

To find out I'd been spending hours with them right on my face? For a month? Oh no no, I wouldn't be sleeping for a long time. Nor trusting electronic anything without taking it apart first for the rest of my life. Poor OOP. Oof.

I dunno about that. Sure as far as creepy crawlies go, spiders have a couple legs up on ants(pun intended). But spiders actually help get rid of bugs. Where ants just want to make more and more and more ants.

Black crazy ants. They like electronics and get into stuff like this. Highly invasive species in most countries. Can be very destructive to electrical infrastructure as they tend to cause outages when their little ant bodies crowd a chip and cause it to arc or trip.

Certain ants are attracted to magnetic fields and currents. This happens in HVAC to condenser contactors since they are outside.

Often times, they get fried the electrical stimulation can also cause them to release alarm pheromones, drawing more ants to the contactor.

Looks like something similar. I would guess the magnetic field generated by the headphone speakers (magnets) are the culprit.
