On the bright side, we can't afford the gas even to get to the grocery store.

The scary part isn’t just paying more to fill the tank. It’s the ripple effect through food, shipping, construction, and basically every consumer good.

Heating oil is going to drain my bank account...

3

u/Unintelligent_Lemon 9h ago

Could barely afford my heating oil tank last winter. We're gonna be relying on firewood this year x_____x

When the price of everything goes up because of something that happened 6000 miles away. Adulting is wild

12

u/DatabaseGlittering43 17h ago

You’re not 6k miles from DC

7

u/SandpaperTeddyBear 12h ago

Or from the nearest person who committed an act of Trump-vote.

3

u/Insertsociallife 17h ago

Or from your nearest polling station. This problem is entirely caused because more Americans walked, biked, and drove to the polling station, got a ballot, and checked the box that said Donald Trump than said Kamala Harris (and more still that couldn't be bothered to do that).

None of this is surprising.

Makes me glad I don’t have a car and bike everywhere. Plus my legs look great!

Remember the last time gas prices went up and everything got marked up?

Do you remember when gas prices went back down and everything got marked back down? No? You're right, it didn't happen.

These high gas prices are just going to cause everything to get marked up permanently.

Thanks, Trump, you just had to end our involvement in the existing nuclear deal with Iran and start a fucking war.

u/niko-marble 18h ago

Everything gets more expensive except my paycheck. This is getting old.

6

u/makemeking706 18h ago

Somebody told him it would be a good idea.

9

u/JCBQ01 17h ago

He thought it was a good idea to kick fhe hornets nest to distract the whole world from the Pedofilic rapist files he and his best friend and coworkers epstine, Glisiane, and himself are in because the HEAVILY redacted 3.5% of known files (per FBI) were that abhorent

2

u/Silver-Instruction73 7h ago

The only President dumb enough to let Bibi Netanyahu convince him to go to war with Iran. Even W turned that shit down.

3

u/LethargicMeh 14h ago

Remember he don't care bc he was going to make everyone in that room of donors very rich. You know who else is swimming in pools of cash like Scrooge McDuck? The Qataris as they're making money hand over fist right now so when he said they plane was a gift, nope this is what the cost was

5

u/carlnepa 18h ago

Because the people in marketing now have proof you'll pay the higher prices for record retail profits.

3

u/ScreamingMini2009 17h ago

Well, when it comes to some things, what else are you supposed to do?

Just simply not purchasing the item only goes so far.

1

u/harg7769 7h ago

According to your president, you could just not buy it and save yourself a fortune. He's done you a favour. /S

0

u/carlnepa 17h ago

Agreed, just saying the suits sitting around the conference room tables are closely watching unit sales and selling price and wondering what the competition is doing.

u/SpezRuinedHellsite 18h ago

These high gas prices are just going to cause everything to get marked up permanently.

Gas prices and other economic factors are completely divorced from in-store prices.

The only limiting factor on in-store prices is public perception.

The most aggravating part of all of this is that Republicans have shown through tariffs that they'll just literally invent reasons for corporations to raise prices. There's no need to go to war in Iran to pretend gas prices are impacting grocery stores.

Republicans are just bloodthirsty and anxious for excuses to distract from the fact the president is a pedophile and a rapist.

2

u/SandpaperTeddyBear 12h ago

That’s not “Republicans” it’s “Republicans and everyone who maintains a friendly relationship with one.”

17

u/FutureZombie8759 19h ago

supply chain costs always get passed right down to the consumer. grocery bills are about to be brutal next month

5

u/GardenRafters 18h ago

And every month after that one...

For the moment he had shut his ears to the remoter noises and was listening to the stuff that streamed out of Fox News. It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Daddy Trump for reducing the price of diesel to $6/gallon.

And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the price was to be INCREASED to $6/gallon. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours?

Yes, they swallowed it.

-adapted from 1984

6

u/MonkeysInShortPants 15h ago

The tractors that plow the ground to grow the food run on diesel too, for what it's worth.

17

u/bwldrmnt 19h ago

All of this is because of Capitalism and Capitalists with their greed.

They found a way to price gouge us again and they went for it.

And I fear that the prices won't come down ever.

5

u/bumbleforreal 19h ago

They will never go down maybe by a few cents but this is the new normal,

7

u/Formal_Plum_2285 18h ago

But it’s not about what your country can afford. Trump has made $ 27 millions for himself by this war. That’s what this war is about.

5

u/Guardian-Bravo 18h ago

Where’s the video of that one senator complaining about $3 gas under Biden? He’s the dude that said: “I can barely make my commute to work.”

Couch fucker Vance also recently said: “Be thankful it’s not higher.” In response to gas prices.

Also, I don’t know who’s in charge of it, but the Iran war has not been officially declared a War. Trump openly called it a “minor conflict”. All this begs the question of: What the fuck are we doing?!

3

u/Narrow-Escape-6481 15h ago

Friendly reminder, diesel cant be diluted, so if diesel goes up and gasoline does not, its because they're increasing the ethanol mix in your fuel.

3

u/RipErRiley 10h ago

Zero iq war. Call it what it is

1

u/dfmz 9h ago

From a zero-IQ administration.

1

u/yIdontunderstand 9h ago

From zero IQ Americans who voted for it.

2

u/yIdontunderstand 9h ago

It's only going to get worse.

Iran has the US totally by the balls.

Sadly the US population needs their balls squeezed a lot harder before they actually take action to throw out the oligarchy and refound a second Republic.

u/hiccupseed 43m ago

Just wait until we reach the statutory limit on the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. At current drawdown rates, this should occur around November, just in time for the heating season. If drawdowns continue beyond that line, the SPR reaches complete depletion by mid-2027.

5

u/Gonokhakus 18h ago

BioDiesel side-hustles are about to go big

1

u/Slow_Maximum9332 18h ago

They'll just ban it. Then say all fuel must be produced by his biggest donor's company.

1

u/Gonokhakus 18h ago

Then it'll just become like a Moonshine business. The US is a big place. They can't even enforce drug prohibition, much less a needed fuel.

2

u/Inspect1234 18h ago

Geez, who could have seen this coming?

2

u/Extreme-Slice-1010 18h ago edited 14h ago

Well at least with the distraction, we have forgotten the Epstein Files right??? Right????

2

u/Kamay1770 18h ago

But Trump will end the war the day after the election and give you another 5k (on top of the 2k and 5k you already got!) if Republicans win again (they already control the entirety of the government and everything happening right now).

Ending the war will make prices go back down. Trust me bro. Trump just needs to wait until you re elect him to do this.

1

u/JWAdvocate83 16h ago

Try explaining inflation to someone. "It's just a couple lil percent-a-rinos, it'll be fine."

The issue with inflation isn't the effect between you and the retailer (though that also sucks), but every cost in every aspect that went into raw materials, production, manufacture and distribution of what you bought.

We are getting our asses kicked by this stuff, and the best Trump can do is stop reporting the numbers. 🥴

1

u/shinra1111 16h ago

But but some guy whose now a girl wants to play in the wnba! /S

1

u/thomport 16h ago

This was a favor Trump gave to the oil companies.

Look at their profit$.

Those are the entities that Trump takes care; He and his Maga
Cult.

1

u/Comfortable_Age_3814 14h ago

Can I ask a question. What’s the point of reporting this? Nothing will be done.

1

u/Beginning-Falcon865 13h ago

Drove about 280 kms in my 6,000 lb ev suv. Cost about $3.10 in energy costs.

Who imagined that Trump would be so helpful in moving all of us to clean energy.

1

u/Cougar_on_GlenPowell 13h ago

Our country can’t afford Republicans.

1

u/Dyrimplefewd 13h ago

Everything travels on a truck. High fuel prices guaranteed higher costs on literally every single shelf.

1

u/Complete_Break1319 12h ago

What's the clever comeback?

1

u/Bit_the_Bullitt 12h ago

All this cause they needed to cover up the Epstein files

1

u/Rough_Common6857 10h ago

Don't forget, the rich are edible.

1

u/Terrible_Phase718 9h ago

Yay! America is finally great again. /s fuck him.

1

u/PlutoJones42 5h ago

Republicans are destroying the lives of everyday Americans by causing the prices to rise on the whims of a pedophile and rapist. Fuck Donald Trump and all the republicans enabling him

1

u/Lardinois 4h ago

Yes it can - Nethanyahu

1

u/aarontminded 2h ago

“Our country can’t afford to keep oppressing people, you should care now that it’s finally affecting you too”

u/Fast-Benders 40m ago

More TRAINS!!!

u/42ElectricSundaes 36m ago

The thing no one is talking about is how corporations will use this as an excuse to raise their prices. As long as we expect inflation they will increase their profits

u/RustyKn1ght 10m ago

Your country can't, but the Epstein class the leads your country can and they can go paying for 10$ dollars for gallon for next 5 years.

So no quick solution is in sight.

1

u/evaderofallbans 18h ago

As a MAGAt I blame Biden. I don't know how it's his fault, but Supreme Overlord Trump will tell me what to think

1

u/wallyrules75 18h ago

Time to invest in stagecoaches

1

u/BeenDragonn 18h ago

Maybe walking everywhere and going a little hungry will wake these sheep up

1

u/D_Winds 18h ago

Why strive for a new generation when they're livelihood will be economically and guaranteed worse?

1

u/pdiddysoilman 17h ago

Bidens fault

1

u/itwhiz100 17h ago

Who’s pockets getting greased with these prices?

1

u/ufl015 17h ago

But… Biden!
/s

1

u/Cougar_on_GlenPowell 13h ago

She had a funny laugh, don’t vote for her.

1

u/LikeASomeBoooodie 17h ago

The same is true where I live. I never in my life thought I’d be buying a brand new Chinese EV, let alone for it to be a good financial move.

Trump really has achieved what no other politician could

1

u/SubstantialRip9455 16h ago

The supply chain is about to forward the entire bill directly to our wallets.

0

u/Face88888888 17h ago

Where’s the clever comeback?

0

u/Zealousideal_Pop_273 18h ago

Wait until you find out how gas prices work and that there is no need for us to pay those prices in the US. And also that the only reason any of this is happening is so dump can funnel money from the working class straight into the oil execs pockets.

0

u/OldJonThePooSmuggler 18h ago

Ask those widows, its not a war

u/Cyber_squirrel_1 18h ago

It’s funny because I work in a diesel truck shop dealership and most of the techs and management are big Trump supporters. Before Trump got into office the second time and he spouted tariffs, I remember saying that’s gonna affect our industry cus truck equals goods and commerce being shipped via trucking. But all the “ intelligent” techs were like NU UH!! Sure enough as soon as Trump is in office a bunch of trucking fleets started cutting a big portion of drivers and trucks and the work here at the shop slowed down and the company has been laying people off to save money. Now seeing how much more diesel has gone up I imagine we’re gonna slow down some more. Now techs are freaking about about not enough work and being layed off and I’m just like meh this is what you voted for 🤷
