Smh android already have splitscreen since idk

u/Due_Emilyy 8h ago

The future is here, and apparently it needs two apps to avoid being alone with its thoughts.

25

u/flepke 8h ago

In reality, the second screen will be for ads

4

u/Teh_Blue_Team 6h ago

To be fair, have you seen it's thoughts lately?

3

u/cuculetzuldeaur 5h ago

Well if you had my thoughts you'll also do anything to avoid being alone with them.

Since Android 7.. 2016..

2

u/coolchris366 8h ago

The iPad had it too, but it’s only useful if you have a big enough screen

1

u/CorrectPam 7h ago

Obviously the next generation will see their future through phone.

1

u/Your_Mella 5h ago

They said the same thing about us and iPads. Now we’re the ones paying rent.

1

u/Different_Babe 5h ago

We literally had to watch Family Guy clips on YouTube while playing Minecraft parkour. We invented this.

1

u/Noisebug 4h ago

Smh the gameboy already had splitscreen since idk

1

u/lnTheGrimDarkness 2h ago

Apple NPCs only know Apple despite talking shit about the other brands all the time

0

u/AbleEmily 5h ago

“Next generation is cooked” - says the generation that needed 2 monitors to watch SpongeBob and do homework at the same time.

u/GreenNude 5h ago

iPhones get split screen in 2026 and Android users are like welcome to 2015.

u/Erander 8h ago

As usual apple being 7 years late to the show and pitching it as new

29

u/SpellNo3829 8h ago

And also a much worse version than anything already on the market. Seriously the shape of the phone is unpleasant folded or unfolded why does it look like that

12

u/JakBos23 8h ago

I was just getting a new phone 3 days ago. They had the phones that were the size of 2 normal cell phones and those were cool. Then the regular sized phone that folded which was kinda cool. Then I saw one like that and thought " gross, who would want that?" Now I see iPhone is making it

1

u/coolchris366 8h ago

It’s nicer than the dummy models at least,I do like how clean the unfolding animation is so it’s basically seamless. Obviously not gonna buy it though

1

u/Successful_Laugh_299 2h ago

You're forgetting the fact that these people aren't bothered by a 1 inch baseball cap bezel. The thing could be an oval while unfolded and people would eat it up.

1

u/Nickynui 2h ago

It looks like the same-ish dimentions as the new sansung fold wide, which i personally hate.

I have had a fold for 3 years, and i really like the original aspect ration they went with

4

u/Reverse_SumoCard 8h ago

Apple fanactis telling everyone about it like a proud 5yo. Its sooo cute

29

u/Theresatume 8h ago

Does it come with a third screen for soap cutting videos or do we buy that separately?

1

u/DoJ-Mole 7h ago

Need a 4th for the ‘car tumbling down an endless track’

1

u/SupervisorAlert315 4h ago

The Family Guy clip attachment is sold separately for $99.

25

u/ahmetonel 8h ago

what part of this is a clever comeback

u/NarwhalEmergency9391 48m ago

It folds and we used to have flip phones? I don't see the appeal

12

u/lars2k1 8h ago

I bet you Samsung's Fold from 2019 could also do this. Or you know, any Android tablet supporting splitscreen apps?

I think the phone does it better than the human operating it, because no way in hell would my brain comprehend using a game and videos at the same time.

2

u/dystyyy 4h ago

Yes, the first Galaxy Fold had the ability to run multiple apps on the inner screen. Other than opening/closing animations that are purely visual, there is nothing on the foldable iPhone that Samsung's foldables haven't been doing for years, as far as I know.

u/NarwhalEmergency9391 47m ago

You don't play Xbox and scroll tiktok at the same time? Wow! Learn how to multitask better lars2k1! /S

6

u/storyteller_alienmom 8h ago

Nobody fucking needs that! What I need is a computer that lets me be in a stupid zoom call for work and play Doom at the same time without the computer telling the company!

1

u/Extreme_Design6936 8h ago

Just buy a second computer? One cheapo work computer, one gaming pc.

2

u/storyteller_alienmom 8h ago

You don't think my boss would notice if I bring a second computer to work? Or notice that my head is looking not at the screen?

(And you I was just making a joke that the split screen on a phone is bullshit, right?)

4

u/softstaticoid 8h ago

Multi-window cat videos are not the crisis.

8

u/Ryzakiii 8h ago

This has been case for years ?? Yall stupid all of a sudden?

3

u/Alternative_Map_3841 8h ago

Listen if someone manages to doomscroll and play subway surfers well im just gonna be impressed, cause my brain cant handle that

3

u/MinMaus 7h ago

My 100€ phone could do this like 4 years ago

2

u/berrydreamk 8h ago

he’s not wrong and that’s the scary part

1

u/PlumieShade 8h ago

Yeah, it's unsettling how accurate that can be. I've seen it too many times in movies where it turns out to be true.

2

u/sakurahirahira 8h ago

The next gen prolly won’t be able to afford it

2

u/KillerGopher 8h ago

This is 10 years behind Android

1

u/LeBeastInside 8h ago

Don't worry, no one can afford this gimmick

1

u/RyanPlacid 8h ago

The next gen cannot afford it so they are fine

1

u/Rynowash 8h ago

By design..

1

u/Sh0ckWav3_ 8h ago

All for only $2000

1

u/Haunting_Song7313 8h ago

Me sitting here with my phone , laptop and tv on.

1

u/Torchonium 7h ago

Now you can finaly play Subway Surfers while watching a TikTok of someone narrating over Subway Surfer. /s

1

u/xav1z 7h ago

aka being not present at anything

1

u/Crazy-Newspaper-8523 7h ago

And how exactly is it different from playing on the couch while the TV is on?

1

u/Mother_Harlot 7h ago

Where comeback?

1

u/007dukhiaatma 6h ago

no they are safe, they can't afford it

1

u/Altruistic_Repeat862 6h ago

Still suprised foldables not available in budget segment like it was with the curved screen

1

u/throwaway586054 6h ago

AI BF/GF on the right, tiktok/game on the left, so yeah everyone is fucked

1

u/kobrakai1034 5h ago

The next generation can’t afford that phone.

1

u/Polly_____ 5h ago

This isnt new, andriod has this as long as I can remember.

1

u/Cookies_and_Beandip 5h ago

Fucking hell can we just not please? Like do we have to keep feeding into this brainrot bullshit?!

1

u/Slierfox 5h ago

Multitasking skills through the roof for that next gen

1

u/JazzlikeEntry8288 5h ago

I was sitting next to someone on a Acela train who was playing a game while watching the show the Nanny with a picture-in-picture (not sure if that's the right term) second screen.

1

u/dr_van_nostren 5h ago

And they’re gonna pay to do it.

1

u/Malmezo 5h ago

Which next generation kids pay $2999?

1

u/JAXxXTheRipper 5h ago

You think the next generation can afford that overpriced crap? They'll be barely able to afford rent.

1

u/MyvaJynaherz 4h ago

Alternatively, you can now thirst on OF and trade crypto at the same time.

Max that pump.

1

u/SpaceMoehre 4h ago

Play it? Eww I only watch it as a background for someone to speak over it

1

u/EpicOne9147 4h ago

How is this a clever comeback?? Post it on sipstea or someshit

1

u/danleon950410 4h ago

So does any tablet, imbeciles, and folding phone since 2019

1

u/jdjsknfnsnisnfb 3h ago

Too expensive for the whole generation. Just a debuff for rich kids

1

u/Direct_Turn_1484 3h ago

Damn. I’m old, I don’t want to do either of those things.

2

u/Agreeable_Sir1169 2h ago

People acting like this is the first foldable. I seen a post earlier saying what a big achievement Apple done with their folio case by having a hinge protection.

1

u/some1guystuff 2h ago

The irony of that statement that the next generation is absolutely cooked as the previous generation is the one doing the cooking and coming up with these fucking things

2

u/caalger 1h ago

Been able to do this on zfold for years. This isn't innovation.

u/unfairrobot 58m ago

Jesus, why do we always need more?

u/NarwhalEmergency9391 49m ago

I'm not buying any of this new stuff
