Computer technology in the 60’s was usually machine grey or light grey. Then in the 70’s it was usually beige. In the 80’s it changed to black. In the late 90’s it seemed to shift to a dark carbon grey. Now a bunch of stuff is predominantly white, but you still see plenty of black and sometimes grey. Beige has really fallen out of favor though.

Nah, you can blame Apple for this.
They are the ones who started designing everything in slick "clean" white "futuristic" looking casings throughout the 2000s.
You can also look at the robots in "I Robot" (also inspired by Apple)

I think the point is that ai robot companies know they are mimicking slavery by making the robots human shaped, so they cannot make them black. But it is still mimicking slavery.

Good grief. The first home PCs and components were white or beige. Then for years they were all black. And they still are in many cases, or it's a mix. Why does it matter? A lot of cars are white right now. Is it because of racism?

We can’t be upset at the news organizations for reporting the news. We need orgs to do that for the health of journalism
The second paragraph of the article says in plan language- according to the “Human Interface Technology Laboratory in New Zealand (HIT Lab NZ) and published by the country’s University of Canterbury”. Therefore CNN is stating it’s their claim, not their own.
