well because of majority Christian population, the last 4 months ends with "ber" like septem-ber and Christmas is just a very epic holiday.

I honestly feel that, we carry on a culture but not many of us know or care about the background lore to it
"Why is it that when I look around the house, it's full of religious imagery sharing wall space with completely unrelated decorations?"

Damn, as an Italian I felt this. Except it’s meat-to-pasta ratio. We just have different carbs. Also have our own traditions that no one knows the history of and we just carry it on because reasons.
My SIL married into a Filipino family, and she was assimilated into their Christmas culture like the freaking Borg. Soon Christmas decorations were going up before Halloween. Then she started doing Christmas in July. Then it was just easier to leave the Christmas tree up year round.

Not really a lot of events / holidays leading up to Christmas aside from undas (observance of all days eve) where people often travel to visit cemeteries, aside from that theres no other national holiday, though I don't know how it got to the point its as early as September, I remember as a kid that it used to be just right after undas

In the US, Halloween is the last bulwark of holidays holding Christmas at bay. They tried to breach with Nightmare Before Christmas, but people remember the Halloween part more than the Christmas part so now Skeleton Jack is holding the line against Sandy Claws.
