Politicians don't want less crime. They want to get re-elected. And we always choose a "tough on crime" guy over a "soft on crime" guy.
Because we watch a lot of cop shows. They make our lizard brain think we're surrounded by crimes happening constantly when most of us aren't really. And the lizard brain takes charge at the ballot box.

A portrait of my lovely politicians (not the USA but is it so different).
More smug satire on thebad.website and r/thebadwebsite
Have a beautiful day :)

But did you consider which one gives government more control over people?
•
u/Possible_Living 11m ago
Its less about control and more about the 10+ billion dollar prison labor industry.

Source for the claim in the comic? I believe it, and would like to cite it.

That's precisely why studies use control groups when doing a comparison.
•
u/ReallyOrdinaryMan 2m ago
Yes my concern exactly. Unless there is a study with control groups, all those scoping reviews couldn't prove if there is a causality or not.

You’re discounting the large portion of society that just hates poor people and wants them all dead. The PRIMARY purpose of AI and AI powered robots is to be able to completely replace unskilled and semi-skilled labor with robots and then simply get rid of the people who previously did those jobs. Like it’s not a secret.

Because police are useless and terrible

Make it better.

The dream. If we held police to actual standards, we probably would see much better outcomes for officers and the people they're meant to serve.

Giving the same amount per person? Or the same amount of funding to a program? Cause per person doesn't make sense. There's much more poor people than cops

Forgive me but this comic looks ai generated. The posing of the character and the way how the paper is positioned/whats on it
•
u/BadFurDay Smuggies 39m ago
I draw regularly on on stream / recordings.
This one is an extremely standard quick and easy to draw pose.
I'm not sure how else you expect me to draw a small stack of papers facing the reader.

I could be wrong and I really hope I am. I hate how I can't trust any artists anymore, so if you say its not then I apologise

Yup. There's also a lot of people who react with:
"No. That's wrong. I KNOW BETTER. Your study and report are just incorrect. YOU made a mistake because your results don't conform with my preconceived beliefs."
