Sikhs are peaceful and hate violence.
3
u/Lazy_Experience_8754 14h ago
From Vancouver and we have a sizable population of Sikh people here. I see many around town as police and also auxiliary policemen. All the ones I’ve met are super friendly but you can tell that they won’t put up with nonsense
3
u/clevelandexile 12h ago
I can tell this particular Sikh hust hates beating the living shit out of dudes. Absolutely hates it.
3
u/DirtStriking2990 11h ago
And traditionally carry a dagger as a means to come to the aid of someone in need.
They are not opposed to violence if it is warranted.
2
u/ZANZARCHALOU 11h ago
I thought the dagger is ceremonial.

I mean, i wouldn’t want to escalate the situation either, you dont know what that dude is capable of, especially when he mentions having a gun, but once hes on the ground and getting his ass kicked of course your gonna root for the store owner

Dude was literally cheering for whichever side he thought was going to win. Even tried to get the guy to hand him a swisher. Treating real life like it's something he's watching on fucking tiktok.

Worked for an Indian family that owned a chain of 7-11’s.
They kept a baseball bat behind the counter at every store.
Aluminum adult sized bats.
Never got robbed when I was working there but the baseball at my home store had dried blood on it.
Don’t steal from these people they won’t call the police because they didn’t really have police back home.
They will fuck you up and then call the cops.
14
u/Cautious-Sun6494 22h ago
This is also the reason you don't rob rural stores. We know that the police are 20 minutes away and are prepared to handle things until they get here. If we call them at all. Rural folks don't call the police.
4
u/Marquar234 18h ago
Rural folks don't call the police.
See, that's not right.
The police will take the body away for free, the mortician charges.

I worked the night shift at a convenience store when I was a student and during my first training shift the manager very clearly showed me where the bat was kept. Glad I never had to use it.

Especially not Sikhs. They will try to be nice until until it's lesson time and it's not just about money. And probably not a great idea to call them niggas while they're beating your arse. Gives a bad impression and might make them not want to stop hitting you.

u/Redcarborundum 22h ago
I’m glad that the workers weren’t charged, and the perp got 6 years in jail.
The cameraman was almost as bad as the criminal. I’d say he was halfway encouraging the perp.

Good because for all they know, he could have actually had a gun. There were some kind of black pieces breaking off when he was getting his back hit so he really could have had a gun or a knife.

Commentary from the cameraman is precisely why these idiots feel so empowered. Just sit back and wait for the police while you watch your livelihood disappear.
No thanks.

Probably better justice than sending him to jail. Won't steal from there again and he still has his freedom if a little bit bruised.
3
u/Sideshowcomedy 23h ago
We don't know he didn't to to jail though.
4
2
u/Dry_Recognition_6724 18h ago
I didn't say that he didn't. My point is that the battering with the stick is better justice.

In some countries where the police are too busy to deal with thieves you will find nearly all stores have a guy chilling by the front door with either a shotgun or an AK for this exact reason. Too bad you can't do this in the States.

Everyone shitting on the camera guy here...
Look, you are not supposed to engage an armed robber. You want to be the guy that says "Get is ass" Then watches a man, encurraged by you, get his guts spilled out on the floor? I sure as hell don't.
He was right, leave it alone, rely on insurance, don't die. Then the other guy got the upper hand, it was safe, so he STFU and started cheering the crook getting his ass whooped. He wasn't an accomplice or a coward, he was utterly, legally, correct. And you all are a bunch of arm chair heavyweights slinging BS.

A 12 gauge would solve the problem permanently.
But no... we have the stupid "Oh it's all insured anyway" attitude. "Nothing you can do" attitude.
And before you say anything... Yes, I do in fact think that the disrespect for someone's business, and disregard for the property of others is worth shooting what I am sure is a Straight A student loved by everyone, just a real sweet boy.

I feel like you give up a lot of your rights while your committing a crime. Especially from the people who you are affecting. Just creating a situation where I might get so angry at them I could stop caring whether they live or die... They created that situation so that's really on them. Like if one of those stick shots hits him in the brain and accidentally kills him. That's not really the shop owners fault... He didn't create that situation.
