I assume everyone is carrying a weapon for my own safety.

You just never know if some idiot will pull out a knife or gun.

Remember that other prankster got a belly shot and the shooter got no charges iirc.

He was charged with discharging a firearm inside a mall, but not for the shooting.

I hope that charge was dropped because it is silly to say he should have taken the man robbing him outside to shoot. 🫩😅

The signs on the door about not carrying weapons inside matter. There were alcohol licenses inside.

Generally speaking, at least in my state, that would only apply for trespassing laws. If the business found out they had a firearm they could ask them to leave, if they refused they would be committing armed trespassing which is a felony. Generally we would not consider it as a factor in a self defense shooting here, since it's irrelevant to the actual legality of the shooting.

It's kind of like if a convicted felon was involved in a self defense shooting. The fact that he had a firearm could be a separate legal issue since he isn't legally allowed to have one, but it doesn't remove the justification from the self defense and automatically make the shooting into a murder
