Hmm, those guys that ride their bike at other people, swerving at the last second, yeah they deserve to mess up and get hit by a car. People who don’t return their shopping carts, who are entirely physically capable. A dude named Rob. People who drive well below the speed limit in the passing lane. Junkies (just a drain on society, even when given the chance to clean up). All of Flock. Greedy dog breeders that only breed for money, not healthy genetics, thus breeding dogs that will inevitably live harder lives, or be euthanized at a shelter. He was literally committing assault, in the legal sense; putting others in reasonable fear of physical harm. He deserved what he got and I’ll stick to that.

He didn't touch anyone but yes he came off as dangerous, but just because you could legally describe something as that doesn't mean you should be permitted to do anything in retaliation. Considering the scenario this could have happened over something that looked even more benign.

He could have died over this and the dude hitting is psychotic as are you honestly

Video shows the guy receiving at least 12 blows to the skull while laying on the ground without even his hands up to block them incoming. 

I'm not saying the dude didn't deserve to be smacked, but he legitimately could have been irrevocably brain damaged from that.

Sure but it is reasonable to believe that the guy punching was still so shaken by the initial "assault" (which IS what the wheelchair guy did)... that he felt the need to keep punching to make sure his life was no longer in danger.

The wheel chair guy may not have committed Battery.. but even "pretending" to hit someone is assault in most states. And assault gives the victim the clear in self defense in most states. 

What this wheelchair guy did was the equivalent of jumping into high-speed traffic. Surely the driver who hits him would not be convicted of vehicular homicide.

Just like pretending to start a fight with an innocent bystander who ends up punching you alot to make sure you don't continue to try to fight them for NO REASON AT ALL...

I dont think any jury would convict a guy defending himself from a person who assaulted him from behind. And stopped punching when someone stepped in and told him to stop.

It seems like his body and brain were acting in the typical fight or flight reactions that are natural to thinking someone is lunging at you from behind. Anyone who comes at you from behind is looking to do something REALLY BAD to you, and presumably, without your knowledge or consent. 

This man defended himself after being assaulted and kept fighting until he was told to stop.

There's a man on trial in my area for manslaughter in a similar situation. Difference is he slammed the guy on the ground. Once. 

From the coverage I've heard it sounds like he's going to get convicted.

The first 2 punches are fine because he defended himself. After that, he straight up punches the guy like a punching bag. That's not self defense anymore and now counts as an assault.

How he know the first 2 were enough? Dude came at him from behind. A hit to the back of the head is murderous. Homie thought he was about to die and prevented his death in his mentality. The only person who committed "assault" in this video is the dude standing next the wheelchair.

If some random dude comes at you from behind and you think you just saved your own life by turning around and counterpunching... i feel like you keep punching until you know FOR SURE your life is no longer in jeopardy. 

A trained fighter might recognize that punch 2 was all that was necessary. But the average citizen who thinks they are about to be  mugged is gonna keep fighting until they feel safe/adrenaline calms down.

The only "assault" filmed here was committed by the dude standing next to the wheelchair who purposefully lunged at the dude to make him think he would be harmed.

The victim even STOPS punching as soon as he is told that the assailant is no longer a threat. He doesnt come back for any additional punches or kicks. He just stops.

But thats what this footage shows.... he did back away after defending himself. This man standing next to a wheelchair assaulted the victim from behind. Then was punched by the victim until the victim was told to stop. Then the victim stopped defending themselves. End of video.
