Doggo: "Hello, I'm Rex..."
The rest of the shelter: "HELLO REX!"
Doggo: "...and I am three months sober."

I’d rather hang with the dog on the left. Right is definitely a narc.

Dude on the left has a Harley, a well worn leather jacket, and swagger to spare
Pointdexter on the right has a pocket protector of pencils. No you may not borrow one.

u/MongoBongoTown 12h ago
I feel old pointing out that pocket protectors were almost exclusively for pens.

I don't know any uses they had outside of pens, but it definitely wasn't for pencils. Pencils don't leak.

It was a joke 🥺

Dude, nobody wants their shit marked up with pencil lead either. The pocket protector stays!

This is a purebred miniature schnauzer. There is no "poodle fur" in either photo.

If Nick Nolte or Artie Lange were a dog, I feel like it would be the one on the left

How long does the maintained clean look on a dog last for before you need another haircut? 3 months? One year?
2
u/ollieballz 6h ago
6 weeks for my Mini Schnauzer, Although he doesn’t have an alcohol or drug problem.

To be clear, this picture is AI. However, for typically schnauzers they tend to go about every 4-8 weeks between grooms. But, to keep a pristine looking face you’d have to do a face trim every two weeks or so. Otherwise they slowly do get a little scraggly. The dog on the left looks similar to schnauzers that have gone several months without a proper groom.

Dang. They're pretty high maintenance then.

u/thebashfulowl 57m ago
Very much so! They are not good dogs for inexperienced owners, and cost a lot of money in grooming alone throughout their lives. As an example, I charge around $130 for a bath and haircut for an average miniature schnauzer (as depicted sort of in the pic above), though I am a mobile groomer so my costs are higher. But you could expect to pay no less than $75 even at a regular salon.

All it takes to relapse is one milk bone. Accidentally drank milk once, and craved the bone half for the rest of the day.

Man...I was the dog on the right for a year and a half, then I got back on the wagon and i'm the dog on the left again. I was so happy and I just got bored, thought it'd be ok but it's clearly not. Alcohol sucks.

It's so funny when people put things around animals' necks. We know they can't get them off! We just gotta fuck with em!
