This is just stupid enough while still being somewhat high effort that I can fully appreciate it.

u/noyoto 1d ago

I can't wait for the sexy Kallax mods with even bigger shelves.

22

u/Greyshirk 1d ago

Lovers lab is about to be booming again

9

u/Nyuusankininryou 22h ago

With or without jiggle physics?

11

u/noyoto 22h ago

If it was up to me, the shelves would hold wobbling vases.

u/ChiggaOG 19h ago

The Videogame Dunkey Ikea-born joke gone full circle. Approved IKEA joke.

1

u/mark-haus 18h ago

Who knows, I know someone who worked in their marketing department and from the culture described there it wouldn’t surprise me

42

u/hockeyjmac 1d ago

It’s higher effort than the $30 Starfield dlc lol

-8

u/Daves1998DodgeNeon 1d ago

Someone hasn’t played the DLC

7

u/byPCP 23h ago

that DLC was a joke. $30 for effectively one decent quest on a new planet that's only partially available. i bought the ultimate edition or whatever at launch, and came back to play that "for free" and felt robbed

-3

u/Daves1998DodgeNeon 22h ago

Damn bummer you felt that way. I loved the DLC and spent hours exploring the new world and characters.

I will never not appreciate anything involving Matter Berry!

u/invyros 1d ago

Matt Berry (just a regular human bartender) is such a random get for this.

u/Brewchowskies 1d ago edited 1d ago

That’s not Matt Berry. That’s Jackie Daytona. No idea who that Berry guy is. Nothing random about it, he’s built for combat. First motorcycle charity gangs, now draugr.

15

u/neridqe00 1d ago

He talks all fancy and europe like..

https://youtu.be/Zlw-7jIav_U

10

u/Sythftw 20h ago

Jackie Daytona from Tooson Arizoneiaaaa

7

u/Thaurlach 20h ago

This mod is what’s made me reinstall and start playing again.

For absolutely no reason at all I’m inexplicably leaning towards a Vampire run. No idea why.

u/WineOptics 5h ago

FAAATHEEERR!! 📣

8

u/Burpmeister 16h ago

Matty Berry is the fucking goat and I need him to voice every character I play. I want to play Michel in GTAV viiced by Matt Berry. I want a talking Link in BOTW voiced by Matt Berry talking shit about everything in the game. I want Master Chief in Halo voiced by Matt Berry. I need more Matt Berry.

kicks open Hyrule castle door

"GAAAAAAAAANOOOOOON"

1

u/SubpixelJimmie 9h ago

That's how I felt about this

54

u/Pouvla 1d ago

Not sure about other hobbies/general houses, but for boardgamers, the Kallax is the goat of shelves.

12

u/greedyhobbit 1d ago

Also for records. I thought this was an r/vinyl post

5

u/facetheground 18h ago

Kallax is the go to room-divider for smaller houses

3

u/Neverwinter_Daze 23h ago

You think Kallax is the GOAT?

Nephews these days don’t know about EXPEDIT. Countless rooms were carried by that one guy.

4

u/gentletonberry 23h ago

We just installed a 4x4 Kallax in our very media/figurine heavy living room and it is AMAZING

2

u/Darder 18h ago

I thought the squares were a bit small for boardgames? 33.5cm width is pretty small no?

1

u/-FalseProfessor- 9h ago

I’m more of a Billy man.

22

u/BlueGoliath 1d ago

So this has been what Todd has been up to.

90

u/DjKennedy92 1d ago

God damn thats some good marketing

18

u/Siukslinis_acc 1d ago

They also have missed asking to use "valhalleluja" by nanowar of steel for marketing purposes.

3

u/Greyshirk 1d ago

Only genuine fire salts for this shelf will do.

15

u/traxxes 1d ago

The 4x4 Kallax would've been more efficient

3

u/MrFatGandhi 1d ago

Shorter hitbox like Oddjob in Goldeneye

12

u/Stubee1988 1d ago

I love how untimely it all is. Like neither Skyrim or Kallax are anything new, just seems like a bit of fun.

7

u/santathe1 1d ago

Like the cube from God of War Laufey?

6

u/Wuyley 1d ago

The GOAT of the boardgaming world!

4

u/uber_neets 23h ago

"So we'll stay in complete creative control, right?"

"Of course, Todd. Just sign right here."

4

u/sfw_supdood 23h ago

This is a recession indicator if I've ever seen one 😂

3

u/gingerking87 1d ago

But that's like the real IKEA ireland YouTube channel

3

u/Dilonspitfire95 17h ago

man, anything but releasing elder scrolls 6 huh.

6

u/TJCannyChanter 1d ago

april fools was a while ago guys

8

u/FoxyGoddessX 1d ago

Just waiting for people to blame Bethesda for something

5

u/Conte5000 1d ago

To be fair: Bethesda sounds like something from IKEA

9

u/Ducaal 1d ago

It really doesn’t…

7

u/Kumimono 21h ago

Bäthösdå, perhaps.

2

u/creiar 19h ago

”Behästa” could be a made-up word that sounds like a verb that would mean ”to horse something”

-4

u/Conte5000 1d ago

At least 7 people seem to agree with me

12

u/Ducaal 1d ago

Whatever, if you speak swedish or another scandinavian language it’s very obviously not IKEA-like. But believe whatever you want dude

3

u/Jorsk3n 18h ago

Yup.

I’m pretty sure ‘th’ isn’t even a thing in any of our languages

Unless the danes have been stupid yet again

-8

u/Conte5000 1d ago

We believe. We

-1

u/Zama174 18h ago

I mean finnish is just made up gibberish

2

u/Exceon 23h ago

Any idea who does the voiceover for this trailer? Sounds vaguely familiar

1

u/GoodbyeMrP 4h ago

I think it might be Mikael Persbrandt?

2

u/zeldazigzag 22h ago

New York Citayyy!

2

u/Youngtro 21h ago

Anyone in the comic book omnibus community will know that the IKEA Kallax is the greatest at holding our books.

2

u/Rosebunse 17h ago

You see what a lack of content will do to a man?

2

u/L3TUC3VS 12h ago

If they put Lack in the game I may consider buying.

1

u/McAkkeezz 7h ago

I looked into the TF2 community, and didn't like what looked back at me

1

u/KingOfRisky 1d ago

Sasha must be proud.

1

u/Ok-disaster2022 1d ago

I just hope they quickly adapt it for ES 6

Also in the non modded Skyrim just use the enchantment glitch to craft an item that gives a few billion encumbrance, it takes maybe around an hour to complete. i usually make a ring or boot for encumbrance and then an apron of smithing, and another ring or boot for sneaking etc.

Honestly i just enjoy making game breaking equipment.

1

u/parkie_gras 1d ago

Why is ikea copying fortnite's playbook?

3

u/Finchypoo 22h ago

Nah, ikea knows what's up. Fortnite would charge you for it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6yHoSvrTss imagine how much this would cost in Fortnite.

1

u/Greyshirk 1d ago edited 1d ago

Been thinking about buying a shelf. This hooked me. I also now have a reason to play Skyrim again

Edit: Just contacted the mod creator to ask if it's a romanceable companion

1

u/mack-_-zorris 23h ago

Ok, so is this paid dlc or a free update?

2

u/scorcher24 22h ago

It's a free creation, so you have to claim it via the creation shop in the game.

1

u/Logical_Net6108 22h ago

just when I thought my load order is perfect

1

u/MinionBobHere 21h ago

This was certainly not on my bingo card.

1

u/Kerbidiah 16h ago

I dont get it, its just a basic ass white shelf?

3

u/DjKennedy92 15h ago

Sounds like you do get it

1

u/Avenheit 13h ago

they broke mods for this...........

1

u/greengiant333 8h ago

This is like finding out M. Knight Shyamalan and Nicolas Sparks are making a movie together

1

u/FReal_EMPES 7h ago

Did they really miss out on a great use of "I'm sworn to carry your burdens"...

1

u/tapsel 7h ago

This after 15 years is just unreal

1

u/rip_tree_lurkin 5h ago

Honestly it's soooo weird growing up in a tiny village in northern Sweden. Then when you grow up you see the name of said village plastered all over the internet and the world.

1

u/SGPoy 2h ago

The ending joke in the video should have been the opening.

0

u/ThisWillBeFunny1469 1d ago

Skyrim will still be getting promoted in 2092 at this point.

0

u/anitadykshyt 14h ago

What stage of capitalism is this?

0

u/This_guy_here56 14h ago

We will never get ES 6 while people still eating up this slop.

0

u/lobotomiseme 4h ago

I hate absolutely everything about this

-18

u/10ea 1d ago

This is what they broke all my mods for?!

19

u/FoxyGoddessX 1d ago

This wasn’t part of the creations update. This is a standalone thing

2

u/Strange_Compote_4592 20h ago

Stop using third party modloaders and blaming it on bethesda ಠ_ಠ

1

u/10ea 15h ago

Third party mod loaders were all there were for most of Bethesda's existence. And none of Bethesda's mods support the script extender.

0

u/Strange_Compote_4592 15h ago

Exactly? SE is a third party tool.

It's not Bethesda's fault that your mods break.

Mods, that don't use SE work.

1

u/10ea 15h ago

Almost every mod I use requires the script extender and the address library. Skyrim is the most modded game of all time and only a small fraction are supported through Bethesda. The only reason they even added support was because we've been making them on our own for decades.

I was mostly commenting in jest. Updates are a mild annoyance. I just have to go back and fix and update some things after an update. Dismissing the whole modding scene outside of their small ecosystem is kind of whack though.

-4

u/AlexRaEU 1d ago

is this a parody of the stupid talking cube from the new god of war?

-2

u/900FOG 1d ago

if you want more skooma I did a mod like 10 years ago called skoomarim, it’s strange and barely playable at all but it should be on the workshop lol

-22

u/Jesustron 1d ago

This belongs in r/boardgamescirclejerk

-4

u/Jesustron 1d ago

I'm doing the sub proud! Yeasssss downvote my sweetingss

-7

u/darkeningsoul 22h ago

Missed opportunity to make this look anything like Skyrim. It's just a white painted shelf? Besides the trailer it has nothing to do with the game

1

u/OverHaze 1h ago edited 1h ago

The Bards College Expansion from the same devs had a character voiced by an actor doing such a good Matt Berry impression it had me wondering if it was actually him performing under a pseudonym.

This right here just raises further questions.
