While i do love The Retro/Boomer shooter boom in the indie sphere, i am very happy to see the start of a growing revival of the mid 2000s FPS game in that same scene over the last few years

It's a banger. It's like a long term passion project of a solo dev. It's been in development for like 15 years (I think it started as an HL2 mod), and it's super moody and stylized.

Sprawl Zero is so good and the soundtrack is fucking stellar. I've been playing it with headphones on to pump that music right into my brain.

I'm honestly fine with it. Keep the Retro and 2000's era boomer shooter booms coming.

I'm just glad we're out of the FPS Dark ages (aka. Every game trying to be Call of Duty without anything interesting in environments, design or mechanics).

Metal Garden is good but too short and the ending is a bit of a let down. I'd still recommend it

Twisted Tower was great, a bit janky but a pretty good bioshock clone for what it is ( minus the powers)

It annoys me they're called Boomer shooters, when they're gen x shooters at most. Boomer shooters would be like, Space Invaders.

Nah, Boltgun is firmly in the Boomer Shooter section. Simple environments with no interactivity, 2D sprites for all movable objects.
