That's crazy, i think there are multiple great games per year. Like for example capcom has been on a pretty good run recently, fromsoftware never missed so far, i've heard blood of the dawnwalker was excellent, silksong is straight up one of the best metroidvania ever and lived up to the insane hype, and so on. Also heard great things about pragmata and mh stories 3 and obviously onimusha
Not saying there aren’t any bad games nowadays, there sure are a lot, but i'm pretty sure that was the case before too.
Reddit gaming in a nutshell. Their has been SO many absolute bangers this year alone, from AAA to niche genres, I feel like their has been something good for everyone tbh.
??? When did i ever say triple A games in particular have great games?
And so far most capcom games this generation aren’t just "good i guess" but downright great.
And as much as i dislike the pricing for the nintendo switch 2, metroid dread, donkey kong bananza, kirby and the forgotten land and zelda echoes of wisdom were all great games.
Fuck i didn’t even only talk about capcom, i also talked of fromsoft who have been cooking nothing but amazing games for a decade now (well nightreign isn’t amazing but it’s still a good game).
Like is this how yall discuss? By strawmanning an argument into oblivion?
Either way, when did i say that the industry was in a good state?
I literally just wrote that saying that there were only 10 great games this generation is a big generalisation.
And some studios making bad games isn’t indicative of the state of the whole industry. It’s like yall forgot the amount of ass games that came out along with the great ones in the past.
I'm not gonna deny that there have been a lot of mediocre AAA games, i just don’t agree with the notion that there barely are any great games nowadays or that every single company/dev are failing.
The fact that I haven't bought a game new in six years, so none since I got a current gen system says it all, actually current gen games that I've actually bought are still in single digits I think, lets see, WRC10, Spider-Man Miles Morales, Holdfast: Nations At War, Crysis Remastered Trilogy (if it even counts), Modern Warfare 2 reboot (used copy) and...yeah that's it. None at all for my XSX so far. I had to go through all my purchasing history to even find these. All other newer ones I've played through subscriptions one way or another.
Meanwhile over the last three years I've amassed a PS3 (that with like 5 games included cost me less than GTA VI will) and 51 games for it, 9 Xbox One era games, 7 X360 games and a couple of PS4 games.

Honestly I feel like that’s just the gaming industry in a nutshell
