All empires fall. Playstation will fall just like Xbox and Nintendo fell hard in the past. Nintendo rose up from the ashes and are now killing it with Switch. Xbox is trying and may or may not rise up again. All because of some bad decisions made by some people who trusted spreadsheet numbers more than what the consumers were saying.
