Honestly I feel like that’s just the gaming industry in a nutshell
2.5k u/serpentear 15h ago It’s the AAA gaming industry, save for a few studios. Indie and independent games are getting better and better. 1.1k u/AnotherGerolf 14h ago It's a misconception about indie, in indie game development there are literally 99 games that flop and die for 1 that succeeds, and you don't even hear about those that died having 100 players peak on release day. 19 u/Rhysati 12h ago And for every book that gets published, album that gets released, etc it's the same thing. Making it big is difficult. Incredibly so. And it requires hard work, having the right connections, and luck. The indie scene is still doing outstanding. 2 u/Feruchemist 2h ago I think people forget this. It’s universal. Books, movies, games, any business you can think of from restaurants to convenience stores. For every success story there’s thousands of failures that did everything just as right but luck or timing wasn’t on their side.
