To be fair I’d probably be the same way if I started drinking and smoking at 13

I'm from the usa and started drinking and smoking at 13. Im 31 now and can confirm i stopped that shit ages ago. I have 2 whiskey sours on Saturday nights and never smoke anymore. Hell, I smoked dabs for years and now I just use gummies

That’s not 100% sober, bub

u/Affectionate_Owl9985 18h ago

Did I say 100% sober? I said I quit heavily drinking and smoking.

No shade, not actively killing yourself is always a positive but you could also go all the way clean and sober and be happy too.

If I didn’t eat weed gummies, I’d never be relaxed and happy. They allow me to tolerate people.

So you're dependent on weed.

The guy you're replying to definitely is in the wrong, but cannibus dependency and withdrawals are still a thing

Cannabis dependency is very uncommon. It’s impossible to be addicted to it. I was a chemical dependency counselor weed is treated very differently than all other substances because there aren’t any physical withdrawal symptoms. It’s not even as hard as nicotine is to quit.

Man, sybau and let ma man have his moment.

-7

u/Comprehensive-Age822 13h ago

Sybau? Y’all are delulu. You’ll see but who am I to deprive you of your last high? Gotta trampoline off that rock bottom like everyone else, no one can make you stop for you. Just remember it’s not when it gets the worst. It’s when it’s bad enough that it actually gets your attention.

My dog died today but I’m not drowning in self will and self pity numbing out, I’m talking to strangers on Reddit about recovery for some fucking reason. Good luck!

What in the actual fuck are you talkin about?

7

u/AtaracticGoat 18h ago

Well, they say recovering alcoholics aren never truly sober. They just do their best one day at a time.

-3

u/Comprehensive-Age822 18h ago

No, they don’t. Sober is defined as complete abstinence from all mind and mood altering substances.

In the metaphorical sense, goofy.

i pretty much quit drinking at 26. now you tell me that i have to go to a party and if it isn't a private house i barely go. also, having the best djs in the world all day during summer at 20 minutes by car helped with prefering something healthier than alcohol and drugs

You from Ibiza?

u/Ketchupcharger 20h ago

I have no idea what u talking about ive been drinking since noon viva Europa

u/Shemsu-Ra 19h ago

“So exactly different” seems odd.  Like, does that really mean something?

I prefer them having to wait.  Alcohol is proven to be harmful.  Why let some young morons drink something that’ll harm them AND make them more moronic?

Eh… I know many drink before 21 anyway.  But they’re better off not doing so.

3

u/drdicerchio 14h ago

Alcohol is hands down the worst ‘drug’ ever. Do I partake? Absolutely. Are people better off never having a sip till they are at least 25 ALSO absolutely.

I have seen Americans quit drinking at 21.

7

u/Greendale_Official 18h ago

Uhm most Americans don't wait until their 21st birthday to drink.

Lol what European gives up smoking at 21? Smoking is incredibly common across all ages. Especially Italy and France from my experience. In fact smoking was still allowed inside of airports in the early 2000s.

6

u/leejoint 8h ago

It’s in a steep decline among the younger generations.

2

u/LazyGandalf 7h ago

Hardly any young people smoke here in Finland. It's getting increasingly rare in older age groups as well.

3

u/RizzMcSteeze 19h ago

For the first time legally*

3

u/Kooky-Narwhal-014 18h ago

This is the real reason Europeans have free Healthcare, its to cover the liver failure

2

u/McSoapster 17h ago

That’s so freaking correct lmao. Had my „wild“ time from 14-19

1

u/ib_64 19h ago

that made me laugh out loud

1

u/Most_Neat7770 17h ago

Not even gotten drunk as an european, just not into drinking myself unconcious

I drink for taste and eventual relax but thats it

1

u/SLAYER_IN_ME 16h ago

Jokes on you. I was doing that shit at 16.

1

u/Shamscam 16h ago

A lot of Americans underage drink though…

As a Canadian I already took years off my life at 19 (drinking age). I pretty much drank every weekend from age 13-23

1

u/FriedBreakfast 15h ago

Then there's people like me who grew up in America who think they should clean up their life, quit smoking and drinking, and get their shit together so they can finish 8th grade.

1

u/doppido 11h ago

I was essentially done partying by 21 as well. Obviously have been to parties, but the party phase was over

1

u/ISmellLikeBlackTea 9h ago

I quit drinking and smoking at 21 because I felt it already took a big tool on my body.

1

u/TheShamShield 20h ago

What the hell are you talking about? Europe has much higher rates of smoking

1

u/fromthebackhugger 19h ago

"100% of eauropeans sober" Get a load of this guy

3

u/Svenflex42 19h ago

You didn't read that right.

3

u/fromthebackhugger 18h ago

Bold of you to assume i can read

0

u/HouseOf42 11h ago

Guarantee, Europeans are NOT sober by 21, they currently have surpassed the US in alcoholism AND obesity in 2026.

Considering there's generations of alcoholics in those families, no one's going sober, if they are, they're quiet about it.

Interesting. Can you post links to validate your claims?
