Pepsi’s Shanghai Disneyland anniversary bottle uses a moiré effect to make Mickey appear to move as the bottle rotates.

That's barrier-grid animation not the Moiré Effect

Man, the magic of Disney. So worth the 9 dollars for a bottle!

I was at Disneyland 2 years ago and 6 plain bottles of water for my family was going to cost me $60. Obviously didn't buy it and just got water from one of their restaurants, but their markups are insane.

it's actually only $2.10...

Youre confusing the additional disney park bottle recycling free with the cost of the drink itself.
4
u/M_Pascal 6h ago
You do know this is in Shanghai, right?
It's just 15 yuan for a bottle of pop - no rampant inflation, no tariffs, no recycling fees

From what I’ve seen around the world, Disney in America is very expensive compared to their other parks

u/rosariobono 12h ago
Actually the international parks are far cheaper than the US parks, it’s the plane ticket that’s expensive. Merch and food easily go for standard amusement park rates or lower

I gotta be honest, this is a fucking genius idea, specially because the label costs basically the same as any other.

Back in the 70s-80s 7/11 (? I think) had a promotion with a similar effect.
There was one plastic cub that was "clear", but with the black vertical lines. Then there were a multitude of others that were baseball players.
You would put one cup inside the clear one and then rotate it and it would show the player hitting a ball, and so on.

It's a soda bottle
I genuinely feel bad for any adult who is ever excited about soda

I thought every Disneyland in the world used Coke exclusively.

kinda like tokyo's disney parks, shanghai disneyland isn't fully owned by the walt disney company's theme park division. instead it's owned by shanghai shendi group and uses disney as a license.

Shanghai Disneyland isnt a license like in Tokyo
Disney owns a 43% stake in shanghai Disneyland.
Tokyo Disney is only Disney park where the Walt Disney company has zero ownership

u/rosariobono 12h ago
Shanghai Disneyland is the only park and Disney resort that uses Pepsi instead of coke products

There wasn't enough advertisement crammed on your reddit feed as it is?
Both are horrible greedy companies. Nothing next level about that.
