I'll be back... need to sober up first!

And grab my slide for me.

u/rockalyte 2h ago

Yep. If you’re drunk get the heck out. Come back the next day with a tow truck and let insurance handle it. If you stay and get that dui/dwi you’ll be cooked way harder.

u/SupplySideJesus 2h ago

This guy drinks and drives.

u/masterhoots 2h ago

u/clubjuggle 2h ago

False. That guy went about 3 feet too far.

u/amiga1 1h ago

this is the second reference to brodericks antics I've seen this week. Glad people aren't letting him forget it.

u/captainedwinkrieger 1h ago

If he wasn't famous in 1986, he might still be in prison

u/masterhoots 1h ago

I wish I could remind him in person

u/squid75 20m ago

Nevermind what happened to Matthew Broderick and his crash... wasn't drunk though.

u/newbrevity 1h ago

If you're confident you weren't spotted on camera you can try saying it was stolen.

u/UnknownAverage 35m ago

Confident and willing to commit another crime?

u/nixvex 28m ago

Well it seems to work for some elected officials.

u/southdakotagirl 1h ago

In the 90s we were out on the backwoods. The guy driving had a little chevy S10. He went up a steep hill went back down. Went up the hill came down. Went up the hill and then rolled it at 10 mph. No one was hurt but the truck was. It was 2am. We walked toward a lighted trailer we could see. Nice couple. They called the police for us. The driver called his brother who showed up with a gallon of water and bread to sober up the driver. We waited for the police and waited. It was a new trailer court. It wasnt on any maps. It was a town of 13,000. The owner of the house called back multiple times to explain to the cops its a new development. After 4 hours the home owners who happened to be a lawyer said guys the cops can not find this house or you. You tried. No one is hurt. Go home. So we did. Cops never showed up looking for any of us.

u/newusernamecoming 1h ago

Gotta also stay at someone else’s house until you’re sober because the police will absolutely show up to your place looking for you

u/kangarutan 1h ago

Either drunk or it was stolen so abandoning it doesn't really affect them other than leaving behind potential evidence

u/lilroldy 1h ago

Definitely woke up in a ditch once upon a time off the side of US 41 in swfl, some awesome dude with a big truck and tow chains tried to pull me out but bith driver side wheels were dug into a foot of mud and the 99 cougar wasn't going anywhere. Some business owner came out being a dick twlling me to not fuck up HIS lawn, I was in a fucking retention ditch which is the counties property, he mentioned cops and I looked at the dude helping me and said thank you but I need to gtfo of here.

Called my dad who scooped me, then had the tow company our body shop used meet my dad and pulled it out after he took my ass home, extrely glad I didn't hurt anyone and was a dumbass 22 year old. I got very lucky. 0 clue how I even ended up there, last memory was walking my friend to her car after bottomless mimosas at brunch and then next memory was the ditch and the dude with a truck trying to save the day.

If you didn't hit a person, property or another car when being a dumbass Definitely get the fuck out of there and hopefully learn from being a reckless dumb ass. Took me a few more years to straighten my shit out but now I have an amazing wife, 2 kitties, a decent job and rent a beautiful house that could be rented for $4000-$4500/month in the area I live but pay $1400 since my wife and I know the landlord and they just want their bills covered while they live and work down in the Florida Keys. Put the fuckery behind me in 2023 when my now wife and I started getting more serious and I promised myself I wouldn't fuck my life up which would fuck my wives life up unfortunately many folks do not learn from shit like this, I definitely didn't, took getting arrested and spending 3 days dope sick puking my brains out in a holding cell 14 deep to start taking being an adult serious

u/Adinnieken 41m ago

Destruction of property,. Leaving the scene of an accident. You're probably not getting off. You might not get a DUI, but if the store has cameras, and a liquor store generally does, they're going to have evidence of intoxication.

It might not get you a DWI or DUI, but smarter money is on the store calling the police, the police running the Vin, then going to the home and picking up whoever was driving (as corroborated by the store video), then doing a blood test.

If the driver is unlucky, their BAL is still above the legal limit. And now they have four charges, not three.

Because I'm sure they're going to throw fleeing and eluding police in there just because of the time necessary to track down the person.

u/Doogiemon 18m ago

And don't answer the door till the morning.

As long as there isnt a trail of blood up to your door, sober up before you speak with the police and report your car stolen in the morning if they dont show up.

u/ThrowawayHaybale 2h ago

Or you could just call the police since they don't punish drinking & driving in the US at all. Hell, they even let you live & don't have mandatory life sentences for first-time offences

u/rockalyte 2h ago

Leaving the scene of an accident is far cheaper than a DUI.

u/tripl35oul 1h ago

Gotta report my stolen vehicle

u/Measurex2 1h ago

Officer. I'm not as think as you drunk I am.

u/dr3wfr4nk 1h ago

slide?

u/Dirt-McGirt 42m ago

They’ll pretend to be confused when the order shows up at their door and say it was stolen.

u/kuahara 2h ago

My friend runs a gas station. Apparently the driver did this, then took off running.

u/Dockers4flag2035orB4 2h ago

Your friend that runs the gas station needs to erect a no parking sign.

Stolen car

u/Wolfhound1142 2h ago

I can almost guarantee you that it wasn't stolen, but the owner/driver was drunk and headed home to report it as stolen.

u/Easy-Poetry9497 30m ago

Nah. Camaros are a huge target for thieves and they dump stolen cars in neighborhoods like this one.

u/Wolfhound1142 27m ago

There's literally no reason to attract attention to yourself by crashing into something while ditching a stolen car. Meanwhile there's significant incentive if you crash your car while drunk to leave and say it was stolen later.

u/Easy-Poetry9497 24m ago

People who steal cars don’t give a shit about attracting attention, especially in a place like that. They probably jumped out of it while it was moving.

u/meekzyr 1h ago

Who else would've done it?

u/pluismans 1h ago

Would be weird if somebody other than the driver parked the car like that.

u/Kidspud 28m ago

Florida?

u/sploittastic 8m ago

Is that not hit and run?

u/SnooWalruses9173 2h ago

Probably stolen car or drunk driver

u/EstablishmentFull797 2h ago

Why not both?

u/sincewedidthedo 2h ago

You mean, like, a stolen drunk driver?

u/DMala 2h ago

Ugh, who would steal one of those? I mean, what would you even do with it?

u/SwordfishOfDamocles 2h ago

I stole a drunk driver once. He made me listen to Tubthumping on repeat like 10 times. I should've left him in the school bus where I found him.

u/Key-Demand-2569 1h ago

Yeah sorry about that, was just feeling the rhythm

u/unfvckingbelievable 49m ago

It's ok, lesson learned.

If you get knocked down, you get up again.

u/GJCLINCH 2h ago edited 2h ago

Steal a car, put the stolen drunk in the passenger seat, crash the car, then hope they leave behind a slide for evidence

u/sinnrocka 2h ago

See how bad you can wreck the pos?

u/Cantankerousbastard 2h ago

Crash it into a bunch of bollards apparently.

u/Malnurtured_Snay 2h ago

No no if they stole the drunk driver we'd call it a kidnapping

u/samtresler 1h ago

Huh. My friends always just call me the designated driver. Getting them out of the bar sometimes felt like kidnapping, but the bartender was complicit.

u/lyngen 2h ago

Worst chauffeur ever.

u/L0rdSnow 2h ago

A guy I used to work with rolled his sports car then walked home and reported it stolen. He forgot to think of an excuse on why he was all cut up.

u/samtheninjapirate 2h ago

It happens so often, they put a permanent sign above explaining. Clearly due to beer wine and cigarettes

u/zero-degrees28 2h ago

I'm not a smart man, but if I had to guess what caused this incident....

u/Railroad-hobo 1h ago

Nice try Coca-Cola.

u/CaptainOktoberfest 2m ago

Or the guy was too busy scratching lotto tickets

u/john-tockcoasten 2h ago

Parked?

u/INDOORSMORE 2h ago

Yes. They parked the car on top of the bollards

u/texanchris 2h ago

lol “parked”

u/SayethWeAll 1h ago

lol “their” car

u/aliandroid1 2h ago

Parked it there to run home, sober up and report it stolen

u/Silicon_Knight 2h ago

Did someone at least tell them they can't park there?

u/joethejammer 2h ago

I’m no detective, but willing to bet that they didn’t “park” the car in this position

u/yolef 1h ago

And I would bet it wasn't "their" car.

u/timkatt10 2h ago

u/BobSacramanto 1h ago

I love the this Is a thing!

u/SHMS50 2h ago

Gotta walk home, then sober up, then report it stolen in the morning.

u/JaSchwaE 2h ago

Stolen car shit

u/TDLMTH 2h ago

The bollards grew underneath. They weren’t there when the car was parked.

u/wingnut-mp22 2h ago

They’ll be back after sobering up.

u/SpinerockNolan 2h ago

Can't park there, mate

u/spwnofsaton 2h ago

You can’t park there

u/31nigrhcdrh 2h ago

Does the store have a drive thru? Or were they taking it upon themselves to make one

u/UMustBeNooHere 2h ago

This is why you verify that guy is actually a valet.

https://giphy.com/gifs/722YzptDVcFhK

u/Malnurtured_Snay 2h ago

"Parked"

Is this the right word choice?

u/ogfuzzball 1h ago

I’d say “parked” is doing some heavy lifting here, but clearly it’s the bollards carrying this

u/jimx117 1h ago

Sounds like the mayor's son is at it again, with his bitchin'... Camarooooo

u/Mephisto40K 1h ago

Long way from the Bahamas

u/Finest_Johnson 1h ago

Before he was MIA, he was DUI

u/stutterstut 1h ago

Never mind the bollards.

u/Mephisto40K 1h ago

Here come the tow trucks!

u/nondescriptun 1h ago

That's not surprising. MIA has had a number of "personal issues" over the years. Hope she gets the help she needs.

(/j)

u/MeddlingMike 1h ago

Driver was extremely drunk/high, stole the car or both.

u/Harry_Iconic_Jr 53m ago

"never mind the bollards, here's the parking garage!"

u/SoontobeSam 47m ago

Driver was drunk. Probably went home and reported it stolen to avoid the DUI.

u/groovyinutah 2h ago

I'm guessing it wasn't their car...

u/Repulsive-Tea6974 2h ago

Hoping it was their Camaro.

u/Klotzster 2h ago

Sir, this is not a Jiffy Lube

u/derf_vader 2h ago

Going home so they can call the police and report their vehicle stolen

u/UnhousedWizard 2h ago

lol @ “parked”

u/Ok_Replacement4702 2h ago

Never mind the bollards, here's the

Chevy Camaro

u/HowlingFrost 2h ago

Hope there is no gasoline piping underneath or near those bollards.

u/fotank 2h ago

Here’s good

u/davesoverhere 2h ago

u/streetsparksmoke 1h ago

When a Camaro identifies as a Mustang.

u/k33perStay3r64 1h ago

was it a good car before being crashed ?

u/Zarzaur 1h ago

Something similar happened near where I lived once. Someone got absolutely T-Boned at an intersection because they ran a stop sign going WAY too fast. The car was still drivable so the driver drove drove it down a little side street parked it in my parking garage and then bailed. Left the door WIDE open. I saw it when I was coming back from watch a sportsball game with some friends around 11:30-midnight. I saw the firetruck and tow truck in the main road when I got home. The next day the trashed car was there all day. I called the police and said there was an abandoned car in my garage that was involved in an accident. They sent patrol cars to inspect then a tow truck. I waited on the cops, and gave them the details on what I saw the previous night. They ran the plates and said the car was stolen. Someone probably stole it and were driving it around recklessly because it's not their car. Got in the accident and then bailed because there was no proof it was them.

If that were my car I'd be furious. Not only did my car get stolen, the cops found it, and it was fucking DESTROYED, and we all know insurance companies like to keep money, not give money out so they probably were like "having a car is a preexisting condition of it being totaled so you get nothing."

u/10Thousand_Hours 1h ago

Do you stay with your car after you park it? Think bro!

/s

u/dritmike 1h ago

Drunk or and stolen

u/sadisticrhydon 1h ago

I'd be guessing it wasn't actually "theirs".

u/tipareth1978 1h ago

Probably stolen

u/randalljhen 1h ago

"Parked" is doing some heavy lifting here.

u/livingfrankenstein 1h ago

This man said “never mind the bollards.”

u/Mustard__Tiger 1h ago

Driver is DUI as well.

u/superwizdude 1h ago

Oi mate. You can’t park there.

u/Devchonachko 1h ago

u/SecureStill 53m ago

u/Deaths_Rifleman 48m ago

Probably stolen to start with

u/thedangercometh 42m ago

Can’t park there

u/zerbey 33m ago

They went home to sober up and will report they had an accident in the morning.

u/cmde44 30m ago

Can't park there, mate

u/Sad_Ad_2524 28m ago

TIL, you just run off after being drunk and claim the car is stolen

u/zeusmeister 23m ago

Probably drunk. Next morning, even if they are tracked down by police, they will be sober. Whatever consequences they face, it won’t be a DUI.

u/5stringfling 19m ago

Camero, Charger and Hellcat owners might be some of the most irresponsible people on the planet

u/paracoon 19m ago

Bitchin' Camaro! Bitchin' Camaro!

I ran over some bollards!

u/rawker86 7m ago

If I know anything about Camaros, I know that it’s more likely the driver is AWOL than MIA.

u/Legal-Suggestion1158 5m ago

well people do say the visibility in these cars is bad lol

u/OhBlackWater 2h ago

Huh TIL what bollards are.

(etym: "bolr", or tree trunk/stump, + "-ard", diminutive suffix. Essentially "little stump")

u/FUCKYOUINYOURFACE 2h ago

Probably a rental.
