Always thought getting "beaned" was one took a shot specifically to the head (with the term originating from a time where people commonly referred to one's head as a bean).

I mean high school too. We had a dude on a cross town rival who banged a girl in my class who was like a bro to a lot of us and he just treated her like shit after. My buddy/teammate drilled him in the kidney with an 88 mph fastball. Everyone but the umps knew why, our coach had to give us the "ok guys it's out of your system" talk after the inning.
I mean depending on what age range you are playing, the baseball could be coming at you 80-90mph so its not always something you just shake off lol. Kids nowadays are throwing 80+mph in highschool and highschool boys in general dont always have the best critical thinking skills and will absolutely bean you if piss the wrong one off. It even happens in the mlb.
dude a ball will leave literal thread marks at 60mph and thats a good little leaguer.... my teammate broke a rib in highschool and that was like 75-80mph.
These guys shake it off really well so its underplayed to anyone who hasnt played baseball, I would not take a 95mph fastball hit for a free base willingly, I mean why do 98% of players jump out of the way? shit sucks really bad and sometimes you dont just walk it off
I love watching the womenâs college World Series but the cheering in batters faces every strikeout was really off putting this year. I get in a tense moment or getting out of a jam, but out #2 in the second inning doesnât justify it IMO.
Didnât help that Texas Tech were the main culprits and both Canady and Terry were very capable of striking out their share but were also giving up a bunch of HRs all tournament
She also threw her helmet off going home. No reason to do that except for taunting. She for really should have dissed someone at second base for the cycle.
Yeah, idk how throwing the helmet off was taunting, it was clearly messing with her focus. Climbing up her head and bouncing the whole time, so she threw it off.
She clearly taunted in 2 other instances, so why are we manufacturing more reasons to judge her?

That was not a garbage hit. Itâs called a slap bunt. Itâs a common hitting practice in softball for women that can run fast. The goal is to just get on base, not necessarily get extra bases.
Totally true. But also not true. A DB is disrupting the route from the beginning of the play. Sometimes the ball goes exactly where itâs supposed to be, but the WR got bottled up somewhere along the way.
Good coverage also forces the QB to try and hit a more precise opening leaving him less room for error and leading to more uncatchable passes. If a DB gets burnt the QB can just aim for the numbers and if he's a bit off it might be caught head high. Tight coverage and he's gotta try to put it where only the WR can jump up and get it so if he's a little off it sails way over and looks way off.

She did stop after running through first and watched the ball, taunted the rf for a moment and then got on her horse. I mean. We get to look at videos and judge them. Who knows what was actually going on
Nope, in baseball if the ball is live and you're in play or inside the diamond, you need a helmet on or the game can't continue. The only exception is AFTER touching home base or after the ball is no longer live. If you remove your helmet on purpose, you'd either be warned, called out, or ejected for repeats.

Here's a different angle on her way to 1st. Way inside the base path and in the way of the throw. No wonder it was a bad throw. She should have been called out for interference before she even made it to first.
The bases are way too short. Teeball (played by 4 to 6 year olds) has 55 foot bases. NCAA softball is played on 60 foot bases. If you are reasonably fast you can't be thrown out on a routine ground ball to the shortstop.
Facemasks are required for defenders because they are forced to stand too close to home plate to have any chance of recording an out.

Fastpitch softball is played on a smaller field than baseball. 60' between bases as opposed to 90'. The outfield fences are generally 200'-225' and baseball is usually 300'+
I want to see a view from up above. What was the right fielder doing to let her get from first to home? The ball doesn't look like it gets that far past her.
