I find it hilarious that the NFL uploaded that video. They were pissed when he did this.

Money speaks louder. It easily changes their minds

So was the lady from the devil wears prada when the book came out, then she leaned in on it because money.

It is my conspiracy that Roger Goddell called Pete Carroll on the sideline and said “if you give him the ball you will never coach another game in this league” because Lynch woulda 100% won the MVP and he made an absolute mockery of the NFL during those two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl.

The grinch is exactly who i thought of when she smiled lol

12

u/drunkmunky88 Jul 01 '26

Might be the most actual Grinch response to anything of all time, including the movie

66

u/FeralGiraffeAttack Jul 01 '26

The wild thing is she’s still absolutely stunning even when she makes faces like that that

66

u/MRintheKEYS Jul 01 '26

Her being silly like that makes her exponentially hotter. Because now you can see there’s a playful side to her personality.

27

u/No-Combination8136 Jul 01 '26

Yep, I was thinking that she shows so much personality in general that I think that’s why people may be a little more attracted to her. Obviously she’s very pretty, but so are a lot of other women lol.

13

u/UncleNoodles85 Jul 01 '26

I had no idea she even existed until she was pointing at someone and it blew up on the Internet. I have no context whatsoever for her pointing but it was hilarious and if anyone can give me said context I'd greatly appreciate it.

36

u/BNabs23 Jul 01 '26

This is my attempt to condense what I've read in other places.

The player on the other team that got really worked up, used to play on the Indiana team with Clark and Cunningham but requested a transfer. Apparently, she used to try to intimidate other team members in the changing room by aggressively pointing in their face. There was some kind of clash during this game where Cunningham pointed at their ex-teammate to say "I saw what you did" and ex-teammate lost her shit and said "don't fucking point at me", as soon as she said that, Cunningham thought, well I'm just gonna keep pointing at you then. And the ex-teammate got more and more worked up about it

13

u/Pepper_b Jul 01 '26

This makes so much more sense. When I saw that clip I tried to figure out why she would choose that particular action, just in that way. It felt so intentional but I couldn't find anything about the backstory when I looked

3

u/Tabenes Jul 01 '26

Apparently, she used to try to intimidate other team members in the changing room by aggressively pointing in their face.

Just making sure, did you mean the former teammate?

3

u/BNabs23 Jul 01 '26

I did!

2

u/Tabenes Jul 01 '26

Lol .. epic

2

u/Ok_Wrangler_7940 Jul 02 '26

TIL that is Cunningham pointing her finger. All this time I thought it was Clark. Can you tell I don’t follow the WNBA? LOL!

u/Fresh_Ostrich4034 Jul 01 '26

she knows Clark was told to say that by the league

173

u/DResq Jul 01 '26

I don't think Clark was told to say it. It kinda seems like she's just being sarcastic. Hard to tell since she says it so dryly.

97

u/Normal_Tour6998 Jul 01 '26

I mean, sarcastic or not, saying anything else would just be viewed as complaining.

They’ll say she’s being coddled while she gets punched in the neck while she’s on the floor and no foul is called.

22

u/dmcd0415 Jul 01 '26

She needs to put on a bunch of muscle a la Jordan between the 89-90 and 90-91 seasons or tell her team to get a goon to protect her

16

u/ConglomerateCousin Jul 01 '26

Isn’t that Sophie’s role?

46

u/Junior_Concept7264 Jul 01 '26

Nah. They need a full-on goon. Like... former women's bare knuckle boxer with questionable basketball skill. When they come on the court there is no pretense that they are there to do anything but knock out the other team's best player.

The league will fine them, ban them, whatever after a game. Fune. Hire another one.

That chic, Sophie, makes some crazy faces. Shes hella funny for that and the pointing.

19

u/Commercial_Tip4624 Jul 01 '26

Not to mention her throwing an opposition player to the floor after the player spent half a game trying to gouge Caitlin’s eyes. And then when the opp player came for Sophie, Sophie grabbed her by her hair and screamed “I KNOW WHAT YOU DID”. Glorious.

Whoa. They went for the eyes and then a shove. Then Sophie and the other girl playing full tackle football. Didn't realize how wild the wnba could be.

3

u/Commercial_Tip4624 Jul 01 '26

It is like fuckin hockey on WNBA courts

3

u/itsgivinganxious Jul 01 '26

sophie played football in high school!

2

u/Self-Comprehensive Jul 03 '26

WNBA can get rough sometimes. The refs aren't always good at keeping the game under control

2

u/Tayto-Sandwich Jul 02 '26

So did she get herself ejected here but took two with her? As a retaliation for what happened earlier you'd accept that for having gotten to take revenge and still need up with the lesser punishment for the team.

2

u/Commercial_Tip4624 Jul 02 '26

Exactly. She put the refs in a box and forced them to climb out of it by being accountable for their failed calls prior.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/sleepydorian Jul 01 '26

The fact that they are trying to blind her is wild. Every story I’ve heard about Clark is either about her being a superhuman and the biggest draw of the wnba or about how seemingly every player not on her team is literally trying to maim or murder her. Like wtf is going on over there. It feels like they’ll kill her before the officials do anything.

They’re like two sides of the same person Batman an the joker

33

u/newaccount721 Jul 01 '26

Batman and joker are two sides of the same person?

18

u/Epic_Elite Jul 01 '26

There's all sorts of dialogs, probably mostly joker monologs, on this. There's that scan that makes it's rounds where Alfred is putting on makeup and suiting up as Joker just so batman has a reason to keep going. Not literally the same person, but still. The whole yin yang, you wont kill me because you need me. Or implications that bats is just as guilty of psychosis and delusion as Joker.

7

u/newaccount721 Jul 01 '26

cool thanks for the non-combative answer - I appreciate it!

7

u/Epic_Elite Jul 01 '26

Yup. There's some pretty interesting story arcs out there, but sometimes you have to sit through some tepid content to get to the bigger plots.

If you want a wild ride Sam Kieth did The Maxx who had a cartoon on MTV back in the day. He also did some Batman work, so he made a crossover where The Maxx goes into Arkham and its a whole adventure on psychosis with some nostalgia mixed in.

Batman/The Maxx: Arkham Dreams

4

u/DoomGoober Jul 01 '26

For example, In Dark Knight Returns (the graphic novel not the movie) a psychologist spits out a whole bunch of BS but it's basically the thesis of Batman and Joker's (well really all his enemies') relationships: they feed off each other.

Joker and Two Face come out of retirement when Batman does and the psychotic gang switches sides from fighting Batman to helping him and following him the same way they helped and followed his main enemy in that story arc.

At this point, drawing comparisons between Batman and his enemies is a well worn theme in that universe.

5

u/grubas Jul 01 '26

Basically the Joker, and occasionally Batman view each other as necessary for the other to exist, and both are basically the same twisted people deep down.  Even with Nolan there's the stated belief that if Batman goes truly dark, especially if he starts killing, he will have both become The Joker and also lose to him at the same time.

2

u/YrsaHaflina Jul 02 '26

Sophie my new hero

2

u/illusive_guy Jul 03 '26

The politician sitting next to her ride or die.

2

u/Bird_Ball Jul 03 '26

Caitlin is saying that to literally protect her ass. If she says anything sideways of the refs, they are going to let the Amazonians end her.

2

u/arizonatealover Jul 03 '26

So the background to all of this.

Recently Caitlin almost got choked after Alyssa Thomas on team Mercury slammed her arm on top of her neck outside of play of the ball. There was no foul call at the time (this was shocking), but after the game the league decided that Alyssa Thomas should be suspended for 1 game because it was a pretty severe hostile act.

Now, what everybody may not know, is that Alyssa Thomas is notorious for hostile acts / severe foul calls. And it's not just with the team Caitlin plays on. I have no idea why the league even allows Alyssa to play at all, it honestly ruins games and hurts players. And in general the refs have clearly not been calling fouls that happen against Caitlin STILL this year. I watch a few different teams, Lynx, Liberty, and Dream and the fouls are called much better in their games! So when Caitlin says the refs are doing great it is 1000% sarcastic and Sophie her teammate is shown here sharing her reaction to it.
