Not that I'm denying that Rodgers is awful, but it's entirely possible that he didn't vote because he thinks it was all rigged by our Reptilian overlords or something equally stupid.

The popular vote hasn’t meant anything, outright, since bare minimum the Bush-Gore campaign. They literally showed us that independent of how “The People” vote, they can pull the strings how they so chose.
Moreover, gerrymandering has become such an incredibly rampant issue in battleground states that the notion that your vote is even “allowed” to hold the amount of weight it should is grossly misinformed. If not outright harmful. How are you going to blame people for not voting if politicians have intentionally redistricted your area so that you are always going to be the minority and never be appropriately represented?
It’s such a joke to pretend that all is well and good with the system as is. That the problem is that people just don’t vote hard enough.
The problem is the establishment. The system itself in its current state. Not the disenfranchised people who (accurately) feel that their vote hardly matters, at least at a national policy level. Come on now.
We ALL knew this day was coming. This is EXACTLY what Republicans did after Bush Sr, Jr and now Trump. They all stood full chest behind their policies and just when things were wrapping up, they all started their criticisms…. I guess you can also throw Reagan in that mix because he’s suddenly a no one to Republicans when prior to Trump he was their “God”. I used to love Aaron, but Covid and Trump really made me reevaluate a lot of people I used to favor. I now can’t stand to hear him speak about anything…
It's also exactly what they were doing in 2020/2021. Dude was basically uranium to your career. Then one day... he wasn't and was reelected President 4 years later. It makes no fucking sense.

His worldview doesn’t go farther than how it affects him personally. I was young and self employed when the ACA passed. I didn’t have health insurance cause it was too expensive and I’m healthy. Now I do and it has quite literally been a life saver for me because I had it.
I'm still so baffled that half the country is fighting against improving the healthcare system when they and their loved ones would benefit from it too. Their guy claimed to just have concepts to improve healthcare and we're yet to even see what those concepts are. Access to healthcare is as existential as it gets. It makes no sense to me that this is a partisan issue.
I talked to some MAGA family about ACA, it was like this was their first time ever hearing about the core tenants of the bill. And, they had no fucking clue it was an OG Heritage Foundation / RomneyCare basis. This country is unfortunately filled with morons, and the rest of us have to suffer.
My dad, who is retired, was pissed because his insurance skyrocketed after his party stripped all of the ACA subsidies, then he called me bitching about the ACA and obama…. like you are mad at the wrong people pops.. get off fox news and go touch grass once in a while.
It was a massive expansion of Medicaid too which means millions more people now have coverage. Also, before the ACA, 1) getting insurance without having w2 work was prohibitively expensive because you weren’t purchasing your plan has part of a group and b) employers were not required to offer health insurance.
Came here to say this. Obamacare did A LOT. It should have done more but Obama didn’t have a strong enough majority to push it through - there were a couple of Dems that kept siding with republicans.

Pretty much every conservative I talk to blames Obama for current healthcare costs (as though it wasn't already projected to be worse), so at least Rodgers is saying it didn't make it better instead of saying it made things worse?

People keep saying this but i hope you're ready for the fact that he's going to continue being praised like a god by ~30% of this country no matter what. the cult is not going to be broken. Every time I hear someone talking about how Obamacare did nothing, it's by someone who either was already well off enough to have insurance through a workplace, or rich enough to not see the effects.
Obamacare helped soooooo many people in dire straits that wouldn't have had access to medical care in the first place. Do people not realize this?
The ACA gave people health coverage to millions of ppl who otherwise would not be able to have it. Especially since lots of employers don’t offer insurance. At least Obama came through on something.

Did the Affordable Care Act do anything? 20 million Americans gained access to healthcare due to ACA. In 2023 40 million Americans benefited from ACA-related enrollment in Medicaid or Marketplace plans.

This is reason No. 742390239234 for why I firmly believe in "cancel culture" or, rather, facing consequences for your actions. Rodgers should have been de-platformed so long ago for many things. But instead of losing his platform for lying about being vaccinated, he got to do the bullshit grievance machine and increase his platform so he could fire-hose his audiences with anti-vax propaganda, COVID misinformation, RFK crap, and whatever else Rodgers felt was necessary to re-position himself as a hero and not villain. Dude now legit has blood on his hands for normalizing dangerous misinformation and contributing to the election of Trump's admin and acceptance of RFK among Trump/GOP supporters. If we'd had a good public 'cancel culture' for famous people who do awful things, Rodgers's contribution to the damage would have been nullified. Like, think if Elon's public profile had ended after "pedo guy" ... if major media had started critically looking into him after that while refusing to let him come up for PR air without facing real scrutiny for his narcissistic publicity stunt and then "pedo guy" tantrum when it didn't work out.

The Affordable Care Act did make a huge difference, for a lot of people. Was it perfect, no. But there is clearly one side that’s way less evil. Would be nice to have an option that’s actually benevolent.

The affordable care was actually kind of a big deal lol it was the taxing people for not having it that I had a problem with. But the affordable care got health insurance to many people that didn't have it. This guy is just talking out of his ass as usual. Oh, and he also got bin Laden after years of Republican failure. Trump campaigned on destroying America…it’s what every single republican wants. Destroying America is why people voted for Trump. No one was stupid enough to think that policies that have been proven failures all around the world time and time again would magically work because “daddy Trump says so”. No one was that stupid. People voted for Trump because they hate America. And Trump is doing EXACTLY what he promised to do, he is destroying America.

Obama did enact meaningful changes through healthcare reform, lowering the deficit and improving our economy. Even Biden did good things, passed laws that enacted real economic growth while creating jobs and during a global recession of all developed and developing nations we performed better than anyone else.
So what the hell is he talking about….its only Trump who hasn’t done a damn thing.
