Yeah, Nilou’s c2 is quite strong, and given that she’s the Bloom support I think it’s actually still a decent investment.

Honestly going to have a tough call between that and Chiori. I don’t own Chiori, and I really like her character. A selector like this is probably the only realistic way I’d ever actually acquire her.

I think c2 nilou is definitely an option. Varesa is great for a new player but she's not thaaaaat great in the current meta esp if you don't have the c6 chev and iansan who a lot of people seem to just be missing (myself included), and one of the biggest pros of her banner was that she'd have them on her banner so pulling her was extra value.

Her skill is a dash.  And its super fast unlike say Sayu. So she can move around the map faster than everyone not named Mauvika.

Goated in terms of pure travel distance. Her hold dash is apparently the second-fastest movement speed in the game, lasts a decent amount of time if you know how to dash-jump at the end, and gives you a lot of speed if you use it off a cliff. Her and Mavuika are my go-to when exploring since they are so fast and cycle into each other basically perfectly with proper execution. The one downsides is that it handles somewhat poorly, so it’s bad in tight caves and buildings.

Varesa is still capable of meta damage today, and even when she falls off her dash skill makes her great for map exploration if you don't have Mauvika (bike is better).

Varesa is much stronger/more meta than Chiori. She is admittedly falling off quite hard with how many newer, stronger electro dps we have been and are getting soon (Flins, Cyno after buffs, Mitya are all stronger than her obviously), but she can still clear endgame content. Plus, she is great for exploration.

Chiori is currently not super useful in meta. She functions decently well in Lunar Cyrstallize as a sub-dps because the lunar reaction pillars count as geo constructs so she can do decent dmg without needing another geo character's constructs for full dmg, but metawise she's definitely outdated. That said, plenty of older characters, including from Fontaine, have recently gotten massive buffs, like Hexerei for lots of Mondstadt characters and Stellar for characters all the way to Fontaine (like Wriothesley).

So tbh, take whichever you prefer, because meta is never set in stone.

Any advice on how priority here? I’m leaning to Chiori atm, but Nilou seems like she’d be a decent Bina sub.

I have Varesa already, along with Clorindine C2 (at the end of this constellation run). I also have all the Lunar characters, minus Linnea. Chiori would be great for my lunar-crystallize team, but I can see Nilou also being useful as my other hydro applier when Bina’s not around.

The three I don't have are Baizhu, Childe and Chiori, so I'm gonna need to figure out which one lol

Should I get Nilou or Childe? I don't really need either, but I've wanted Nilou for a while because she's beautiful, and now I want Childe because I believe he will get buffed at some point being a harbinger. The thing is I already have good hydro characters, and I also hate using a bow...

Childe’s playstyle kinda makes up for him using a bow since he can slash using the dual swords too

i can create a lunar team with nilou, c2 nahida, c0 columbina, and c0 lauma

with varesa, i can make an overload team with durin, fischl, and chev, or a plunge team with xianyun and iansan...

If you focus on the Archon quest line, you have ample time to reach the pre requisite quest in the many weeks between now and the end of patch 7.2. I would do that and not quick start to avoid spoiling. If by "stuck" you mean in exploration/world quests, then there is such an insane amount of content from Inazuma to current quest that I don't think it's possible. Good luck and choose wisely !
