He even kept his head down trying to quickly walk by until the guy pretended to jump him.

He was tracking the movement of his feet. He saw them move forward and ducked.

Dude’s had to live with his head on a swivel

That’s a response of a life lived in danger

Or that guy had been standing outside acting a fool prior to him walking by? There was already a crowd watching and someone recording. He was ready and possibly walked right by to see if the guy would try him.

Classic PTSD response.

This. That's the response of someone who has spent a significant period of time living under constant threat from all angles. I have friends that move like this. These are the last people on earth you want to spook.

Or just being aware of your environment, instead of staring at your phone while walking. I'm always watching everyone's movement and body language, I sit facing the door in restaurants when possible, and know all the exits as soon as I get inside somewhere. It's precautions because we live in a fallen world, and I have been in many diverse places and socioeconomic positions in life, making me blend in while also vigilant, but never paranoid or afraid.

It's bad for your health to assume that life threatening danger is waiting for you on every corner.

If you have a family, your children can also clue in on your "on alert" mentality and it's probably subconsciously teaching them to be afraid.

Real life isn't a Mack Bolan novel.

Yes this. That's a trained response over the years.
