All these animal experts about how thirsty the dog is.

That dog is healthy and is clearly loved by his family. I'm pretty sure he gets as much water as he wants.

Sheesh.

I don’t like these kind of videos where they are always looking off camera for their next cue or instructions

66

u/GuerillaGandhi 2h ago

He's just trying to not stare directly into the lens to not break the 4th wall.

7

u/wart_on_satans_dick 2h ago

The dog would then have to start talking about how politics is all about sex.

16

u/Razor1834 1h ago

Everything is about sex. Except sex, which is about power.

2

u/Cho-Dan 1h ago

This makes way too much sense

1

u/wart_on_satans_dick 1h ago

Yep. Just don’t look into anything else involving both Kevin Spacey and sex.

Redditors when a dog is trained to follow commands:

-18

u/FlyingSquirelOi 2h ago

Have you never seen those videos of people training their dogs with a stick and not treats? Yeah I’d learn fast to if I was getting hit.

Not saying that’s what’s happening here but that knowledge has given me skepticism of animals doing tricks

21

u/Chedder_456 2h ago

If you’re not saying that’s what’s happening here, what’s your point? Dogs love learning tasks and doing tricks and stuff, training them is required to give them a fulfilled life.

Why is your blind assumption that there’s abuse going on?

2

u/MeanCantaloupe69 1h ago

Any video with an Asian person in it instantly arouses suspicion on reddit for some reason.

-2

u/FlyingSquirelOi 2h ago

I explained that in my second sentence, it’s given me skepticism about these kind of videos

11

u/Chedder_456 2h ago

I know dude and I’m saying it’s sad that a couple of messed up videos have ruined an entire genre of cute video for you.

And it’s very ‘redditor’ behavior to look at a perfectly mundane video and go make a comment about how it actually might be terrible with no real info. Just pessimistic in general.

-1

u/FlyingSquirelOi 2h ago

True, it is a bit sad and I am feeling pessimistic today, if you can go through life with optimism about everything then more power to you, I cant

1

u/Chedder_456 2h ago

I mean I’m sorry you’re feeling that way. In this case I feel like it’s led you to assume the least-likely reality with no evidence. Then go post about it to remind others about why they shouldn’t enjoy this.

1

u/FlyingSquirelOi 1h ago

Oh I’m not making the assumption that this specific dog has been abused to do the trick, I was just pointing out my skepticism and my lack of ability to enjoy trick videos at face value because of the previous videos I’ve seen

You're kinda sad. Imagine living life the way you do. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. I couldn't imagine how you feel every day looking for the worst.

-5

u/FlyingSquirelOi 2h ago

Just because you don’t want to believe it, that doesn’t mean it’s not reality for people out there. But no sure, live in your bubble and turn your nose up at anything that give you the ick cause you’re sheltered.

1

u/rorschach2 1h ago

You are aware there is more than one way to view the world? I can believe in bad people while still seeing the good in prople first. You assume I pretend nothing bad could ever happen to a dog why? I gave no indication of that fact with what I said. You are using some bullshitty shit reasoning because you feel threatened when called out on being an overly pessimistic dumbass.

1

u/FlyingSquirelOi 1h ago

Yeah I was being a bit of a bitch after “but no sure” my bad on that. Not feeling threatened about being pessimistic, I’m just being pessimistic

3

u/wildbriarroses 2h ago

He's not doing tricks, he's doing his job.

If you knew ANYTHING about dogs, you'd know how important it is to train them and give them a "job" or sense of purpose like this. This maintains the dogs mental and physical health, and teaches the dog to behave in high stress or overwhelming settings.

  • someone who trained dogs for a living.

3

u/jas070 1h ago

Mine was a terrible roofer.

2

u/applespicebetter 1h ago

Have you ever had a dog? Especially a working breed like the lab or lab mix shown here? They loooove to have a job, need it really, and actually thrive when they do and suffer when they don't. Work is play for them, and they don't just want it they need it to be mentally healthy.

2

u/kaas_is_leven 1h ago

Alright here's a little trick, works for most animals. Look at the fur, skin, feathers or whatever it has. Does it look good, shiny, etc? Then it's probably well taken care of. Not fool proof, but in most cases a very telling sign of general health and wellbeing.

1

u/FlyingSquirelOi 1h ago

Ahh that is a good idea, thanks I’ll keep an eye out

0

u/Ziegelphilie 1h ago

Have you never seen those videos of people training their dogs with treats and not with a stick? Yeah I’d learn fast to if I was getting treats.

Not saying that’s what’s happening here but that knowledge has given me skepticism of animals doing tricks

0

u/FlyingSquirelOi 1h ago

Yeah I agree, dogs can be trained with treats too, that doesn’t mean there aren’t dogs out there being beaten to perform in videos.

If that’s an uncomfortable reality for you then that’s your problem.

2

u/Cantusemynme 1h ago

Dude, why you gotta be harshing everybody's mellow?

9

u/wildbriarroses 2h ago

Hate to break it to you, even if the camera wasn't there, he'd still be waiting and watching to take instructions like that soooooooo

5

u/hollowsoldier- 2h ago

Yeah god forbid they… trained their dog?

5

u/Suspicious_synth 2h ago

You would do the same

-7

u/FlyingSquirelOi 2h ago

I just wouldn’t make these videos, or put my kid on the internet, it’s creepy

14

u/Stamped914 2h ago

Neither would I but the world doesn’t have to behave the way we do!

11

u/OSUfan88 2h ago

What’s creepy about seeing a kid on the internet?

I sometimes get concerned when people find seemingly innocence things creepy.

-1

u/FlyingSquirelOi 2h ago

Nothing is inherently creepy about it and seeing one isn’t the creepy part.

There are alot of pedos on the internet, I know that, and as a parent why would I post my children online when I know there’s pedos out there?

4

u/PM_me_punanis 1h ago

Why would I wear shorts and mini skirts in public when there are rapists out there?

It's the same logic.

-3

u/FlyingSquirelOi 1h ago

It is absolutely not and it’s concerning you think that

3

u/Lokkdwn 1h ago

It is actually. I had never seen it put that way before, but it’s the exact same kind of policing/gatekeeping.

1

u/FlyingSquirelOi 1h ago

I’m not policing or gatekeeping, I’m saying what I don’t do, not telling people what they should do.

3

u/Mighty_Muppet 2h ago

Uh… I don’t think any of us are looking at the kid.
What a great, happy pup!

3

u/Keibun1 2h ago

I wouldn't make these videos, but what's creepy about it?

0

u/FlyingSquirelOi 2h ago

See the other thread

1

u/monekm 1h ago

what's creepy about that? you must have some rly bad experiences in life.

1

u/DisorderlyAqueduct 1h ago

yup, someone had to record it. so logically one of their parent's on an off day. and got their kid to pet the dog after/at the end. 🤷

seems like what you'd do if you want to record it. 😮‍💨

0

u/thenord321 1h ago

The dog doesn't understand "camera" so he's looking at real people.... shheeesh.

0

u/neatoalpacino 1h ago

So don’t watch them.

-2

u/TacoDoc2 1h ago

Ai prompt said don't look at the camera.

20

u/narkeleptk 2h ago

Yea man that dog looks super happy.

31

u/AmbitiousParty 2h ago

Most dogs love having a task and just being with their family. That’s a happy dog.

-1

u/TacoDoc2 1h ago

all these animal experts on here don't realize how fake that is.

-15

u/TheSpanxxx 3h ago edited 2h ago

And if it's not AI. It's a dog being recorded by someone tracking this entire path home?

Edit, because the point wasn't made well and is being misconstrued...

I didn't say it was AI. I honestly didn't feel it was. I was just making the qualifier because so many started to say it already.

My point was lost because of it. I was merely saying that if this is a real dog and a real girl, this was being filmed - obviously- and so both the dog and the girl were safe and fine. It was meant as an additive to your statement inline with "the dog was fine, the girl was fine. This wasn't recorded magically...the girls parent was likely the one doing it"

38

u/AnnoyingInternetTrol 3h ago

Its not AI this video is super old.

-1

u/TheSpanxxx 2h ago

-5

u/-CoachMcGuirk- 2h ago

Yeah, it was filmed in the 1970s…

27

u/Prairiewill 2h ago

Believe it or not, people were able to take several different videos and splice them, clip them, and edit them together into a single video before AI was even a thing

20

u/Rkramden 2h ago

Yeah. They made a movie with their dog and their kid. What a bunch of monsters.

7

u/monkeybrainbois 2h ago

Let’s all get together and find a way to cancel them

3

u/RealIncredibleCronk 2h ago

Or, hear me out. Intentionally shooting multiple takes and editing it together.
