In Victorian times in Germany they used to use small boys with dog-drawn carts to deliver groceries, milk, etc.

In “Three Men On A Bummell” Jerome K Jerome describes the absolute chaos that reigns when the butcher’s dog decides to have a fight with the baker’s dog, and then all the little boys join in the fight as well.

This doggie is far better behaved than that, but I still think that dog-drawn carts are kind of a cool way for kids to get around.
