Discussion Parents want to sell my computer
My parents think that I spend too much time gaming and not focusing on my future as a student. Their argument is that my "obsession" of gaming is blocking me from actually trying and that gaming is becoming my daily routine, which I feel is wrong.
I have never gotten anything under an A during my 2.5 years in school and kept on getting straight As. I also get consistent 98+ score averages during my mid term and final exams. I do all my homework and help out with chores whenever they ask to. When I game, I only game 1 - 1.5 hrs per session, and only have a max of 2 sessions per week, mostly playing with friends.
I understand that they don't like the fact that I play games, since both of them had to try very hard to get into our country's top university but I feel like they are pushing standards from their time and comparing me to them, which doesn't seem fair. I also don't see why they would sell my pc. I didn't pay for most of it, but my dad told me that he would buy me one if I got the highest exam grade in the entire year. I spent over a year trying to achieve that, and during that time spent a lot of time min-maxing and selecting all the components. It was my dream to build a gaming pc and now they are saying that they should sell it (btw they pretty much told me that I had close to no say in the matter).
How should I tell them that they shouldn't sell the pc? I am fully prepared to quit gaming if they told me to but I don't want to part with my pc.

Hardware (Update) I brought home the 5080 I found for $600 and its real.
Firstly, this is not an "I told you so" post. My original post was met with lots of skepticism and criticism, calling it a scam and that I was going to be robbed blind, and I'm thankful for that. I was aware of a lot of the risks I was taking meeting up with this individual and planned to take all precautions necessary. The meetup went smooth, we met in a busy parking lot in daylight, he showed me the card and its innards along with plenty of videos of it working. Even still, people were commenting things I hadn't even thought of and I was able to plan accordingly, so for everyone who showed concern, thank you.
I barely was able to test this today and gpu-z shows a functioning 5080 in my system and proper readings. I'm still in disbelief I was able to find an almost brand new 5080 for BELOW msrp in this economy. Goes to show that you still can find good deals every once in a while but I never thought one this good would happen to me. Thanks again everyone who commented on my original post.

Meme/Macro Sony is onto some weird things nowadays
They cut funding for Kojima's spiritual successor to the Metal Gear series, so now they are moving over to Microsoft. The days of Sony first MG games are over. LOL.

As u can see, im downloading RDR2 with size of 112gb and it's estimated time is 1hrs20min, this is like 4x faster than using wifi.. i wish i switch to ethernet earlier so that I don't have to deal with slowwy internet connection that not even have stable speed.. btw couple of days ago, i just downloaded gta 5 with size of 96gb, and guess what? I had to wait from 11pm to 11am to finish the download💀

Meme/Macro Physint is now releasing day 1 on PC. Thanks, Sony!
While the company has fired Hideo Kojima (with his much-anticipated spiritual successor to MGS), Sony has been confirmed to be going forward with their next live-service extraction shooter, Break In (formerly Fairgames).
EDIT for fanbois: Physint was never meant to be a PS exclusive. Sony was paying for early release on their platform, while PC would wait for a period. Now PC and Xbox get that same release date and PS is completely out of the picture. 😂

Build/Battlestation 5 Liter - RTX 5080 Mini + 9800X3D - Custom Vapor Chamber Cooling
I’ve been posting updates on my CPU and GPU vapor chamber cooling hardware over in r/sffpc for a little while. They will be available very soon. YouTube preview samples are already out, with a couple units on the way to other Redditors for independent testing. Currently trying to coordinate everyone to the same release window.
The current test system:
- Motherboard: ASRock B650I Lightning
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D - 140W no CO
- CPU Cooler: GVCx47 (32mm heatsink, 5 heatpipes, dual 80x15 mm fans, 4mm vapor chamber)
- GPU: PNY RTX 5080 Triple OC - 360W
- GPU Cooler: GVCx5080 (180×125×40mm, 11 heatpipes, 7.5 mm vapor chamber)
- RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 64GB
- Storage: 8TB Lexar NM790
- PSU: FSP FlexGuru Pro 650W
- Case: SGPC K39
The OCCT Extreme testing was done at 25.5°C ambient, 70% fan speed, and ~38 dBA. Both coolers have a good amount of headroom left if you're willing to crank to 100%. The PSU is louder than both at full load, something we plan to take care of. When GPU was benching, CPU fan was off, and vice versa.
We’re going to be putting out videos over the next couple of weeks covering the coolers, testing, construction, and the development process. We'll also be putting up more info and photos on the 4L version using the GVCx36 cooler during that time.
If you want to follow the project or get release updates, the site is now live at:

Story Lightening kill my girlfriends pc
Lightning killed my girlfriends pc* I’m not sure the statistic, but I’m assuming something like this is pretty rare, lightening struck my girlfriend house and fried her pc. Happened a while ago but I’ve wanted to share. She ended up junking(kept it though.) and buying a new one.

Game Image/Video Shadow of the colossus is becoming playable on PC through SHADPS4. The first colossus can be defeated and you can proceed without any crashes on linux.
Here's the video I recorded of this fight: https://youtu.be/X_ItxO2TS0I?si=VvePdm4QcPCcCSfx
I am using this build in PR: https://github.com/shadps4-emu/shadPS4/pull/4995
And expect further fixes in the near future.
