I’m glad America developed its infrastructure around the car and not the train

American Redditors have this bizarre kind of “grass is greener on the other side” mentality that America missed out building their cities around roads instead of rails. That trains are better in every aspect compared to cars. But to me it’s the exact opposite.

Cars are way better, easier, and more convenient form of transportation. I can store stuff in my car while I travel. I can go where I want when I want and with what I want with a car. Trains are clunky, fixed, and unreliable.

Especially with the advent of Uber, there really is no reason to invest in public transportation when private alternatives with car sharing exist.

Not only that, but cars help the economy, especially buying American made cars. Ford, GM, and Chrysler, the Detroit Big 3, come to mind.

Cars are also private. If I want to blast my music I can. Not in a train unless I want to get my ass kicked.

Overall, I love that America is so car oriented, that the interstate highway system was built and invested in, and I hope cars continue to dominate transportation here in the future and beyond.

Kara should (and will) be ashamed of herself. I found her sleazy content-- and it's all free

Made the mistake of curiously looking up KAra's adult content to see if it was that bad and OMG. OMG EW. NO MAN will be ok with that as a partner. Sorry, you can pretend to be "modern" and, more laughably, so "in need as a single mother" (what a joke), but guess what- no man, especially not your husband and the father of your child, is going to be ok with that, literally showing your insides and parts that are supposed to be for the person you're with, not every pervert online. I didn't even have to search with any effort, videos with literally putting a giant black d*ldo in her a*hole came up. It's not tasteful or "suggestive." It's blatant and gross, but even worse is that it looks so cheap production-wise, like she just took out her phone to film herself f*ngering and boning herself on some steps and on some airbnb bed. It's so sleazy.

First of all, it's FREE, so not sure why she thinks she's some kind of baller. Secondly, thinking of your son??? THAT IS INSANE. How absolutely embarrassing and shameful for that child (and Guillermo).

YES, you should be ashamed of that. And guess what? She will be. NO matter what anyone says to be cool, no wife or mother should be doing that; it's sickening, and her own consequences will truly be the hell of living with the fact that you created some filth that will never ever go away and shamed your family, AND devalued yourself as a woman. That's the truth. That's the hell that she'll have to live with forever or else just turn demonic like that Bonnie Blue psycho.

It's too bad. She was so beautiful and elegant-- she will never be either thing again.

It’s Not Unrealistic To Expect A 17 Year Old To Pick A Career

I imagine this will get a bunch of reactions that heavily disagree but I just want to say it.

My actual unpopular opinion is that 17 isn’t too young, Americans just baby themselves a lot. 16-18 is the time a lot of people around the world finish secondary and go into higher education but it’s Americans that complain about it so much more, even with an easy K12 and possible straightforward admission into higher ed.

Where I grew up, we had to choose a path (science, art or commercial) by 13 which tailors the classes you take till the end of secondary school then you write two big exams (sometimes 3) before going to uni.

So I also don’t think it’s insane for a 17 to choose a major. We were introduced to different career paths from a young age (like primary school) and from the beginning of secondary school, you’re expected to think well about what you want to do.

Also, in universities, you could have your first two semesters full of Gen eds (which I don’t really recommend but you can) and those classes are literally an extension of secondary school. When I started college, most of topics in calc 1, chem 1 and physics 1 were all already taught to me in sec. school outside the US.

Anyways, all this to say I don’t believe someone needs a year (what’s really the difference between 18 and 19 here?) off doing “exploring” to know what they want to do. The American job market also allows people to pivot in their career, to start their own businesses relatively easily.

Maybe some people just need a bit more perspective.

serious hot take The dehumanization of babies and the humanization of pets is horrible

I’ve heard people say that they would save their dog over a Random baby and that is insane. This even extends to the Clancy case where people are supporting a woman who MURDERED her 3 kids. People also calling their pets their “kids” is weird as shit. People are crazy and the world is going to shit

Take: Reddit is an echo chamber for near-extreme views, and it's radicalizing people.

Examples of this are:

- Celebrating the murder of a CEO

- Categorizing all landlords as evil

- AI is evil because it (somehow) both take away jobs and has absolutely no use (see: stupid CEOs push AI for stupid/evil reasons)

- Incredible moral purity and virtue signalling in every single subreddit

- The whole r/antiwork thing

I used to search hobby subreddit for niche humour and surprisingly useful advices, but there is no escaping the above in any threads.

A lot of reddit is driven by American politics so the above are not surprises, however, it is disheartening to see my once-favorite platform become no different than the social media it used to make fun of.

China Built an “ARTIFICIAL SUN” in the Desert!

It looks like a futuristic sci-fi base, but this is a solar thermal power plant near Delingha in Qinghai Province, China. ☀️🇨🇳
Thousands of computer-controlled mirrors called heliostats track the Sun and reflect sunlight toward a receiver on the central tower. The concentrated solar energy produces intense heat that can be used to generate electricity. ⚡️
Even more impressive, some of that thermal energy can be stored, allowing electricity generation to continue after sunset.
Is this what the future of energy looks like? 🤯

Hated Tropes [Hated Trope] “Strong female characters” who are really just ass holes

Both Beth’s (Rick and Morty): Complete pieces of shit. Arrogant, self absorbed, hypocritical, etc.

Angela (Marvel rivals): There’s this interaction with Cyclops where Cyclops is trying to make a plan and Angela basically says to be silent because he’s a man. She’s a sexist ass hole. What really pisses me off is that she said this to one of the best strategists and leaders in the marvel universe just because he’s got a penis.

Imagine there was a female character with a 300+ iq and 12 phd’s and when she said something some guy just said “shut up and get back in the kitchen!”. This is that but gender swapped.
